Fished the upper access today after I got off work. Got there around 9am, caught alot of small fish but did catch to in the 10-12" range, growing up in California fishing for Brook and Golden I thought these were nice size. Saw a few larger ones but couldn't get them to bite. Didn't take fly fishing gear since I had never been there before and my skills are limited in tight areas. Used a ultralite rig with 4lb.Trilene. Best 2 lures of the day Mepps Algia plain size#0 and a Rooster Tail 1/16 oz in Rainbow. Didn't have much luck at first but when I started fishing across the current on a slightly downstrem retrieve I couldn't keep the off the hook.

I use a grip similiar to that pictured in the top two pictures. I have fairly large hands and find it to be more comfortable, also feel more in control than trying to grip just the small handle.

Fished Areas 1 an 3 on Saturday and did great on white Berkley eggs with shot about 2 feet up. Caught 8 in area 1 and 5 in area 3 over a 2 hour period. Wish I had longer too fish there but got a late start.

The Upper Kings River in Ca. The Cedar Grove area on its South fork is gorgeous in the fall. The Pine Flat area at the upper end is a trophy area but at the time I lived close but my skills weren't the best with a fly.
