  1. I like the Idea. I need to find a fishin partner. Since I have retired I am spending a lot of time here.( Stockton) Have boat (17.5 Lowes Fishin machine) and have had some luck recently. I am not a stalker, but I do get bored fishing alone. Ron
  2. Please Leave everything ALONE!!!!!!!! The greatest thing about Stockton is whether draggin a minnow or worm or trolling you never know what you might catch. LM Bass, SM Bass, Crappie. Walleye,Chanel cat. White bass, Kentucky bass,Drumm or Flathead...!ETC! It is great the way it is!!!! My buddy spent a whole week on the Rock and they only had one fish to fry. The time we spent over the last 2 days we filled a GALLON Ziplock with fillets I also bass fish and that is way above the Rock!!! :have-a-nice-day:

  6. This isn't the first time BPS/Tracker Marine has had odds with COE and MDC near Lake Stockton. There is some humor in this screwup! The Chocolate lab that is in my avitar was to be the model in a photo shoot. It was " Field and LAB" tested for their tracker duck boats and Toyuta Tundra trucks. It appeared in the BPO catalog and DU magazine, They were at Aldrich ramp, but it was crowded, So off to the road to the old bridge north of the public ramp. There were a couple of cat fishermen having some luck there and not wanting to give up their positions :bouaaaaah: In turning around both the Tundra and the Tundra towing the boat get stuck in the soft field. :innocent: Especially when the MDC agent appears and is not particularly HAPPY! :pissed-off: He offers a number for a towing company or a Chain. My wife in our Chevy 2500HD Was able to use the chain to EXTRACT both Tundras plus the boat all at the same time Thought I would try to add some humor to a lack of courtesy! This used to happen on TR at the free SK ramp. Especially SKI boats!
  7. Powerdive a sincere THANX for the info!!!! The weather forecast may allow us to measure them (fish) before they are cooked. I am located at Stockton. I can be reached through the site Again, thank you for your HELP!!!!! Ron
  8. Smoker: Welcome!!
  9. Hey, I actually purchased the Precision Trolling book. I wasn't impressed by the leadcore instructions Well, lateley my monofilled reels would have melted Maybe even the leadcore //TOO The heat! Powerdive, do you use the 50 ft of mono and then the 3 colors of 18' then more 10' mono, as suggested in Precision Trolling? What knots do you all use for the braid(powerline) and or lead core. How long and what type of leaders? Where can I read more about leadcore line?? This dang heat is TOO MUCH!!!!!!
  10. RPS: Sorry, I put the question after the answer. Thanks for the info.
  11. Rps: Thanks for the website. The book is actually sold out. What size braid are you using? I have had zero luck with braid on Table Rock or Stockton. I see Cabelas has trolling combos in Medium and Medium Heavy rods. I have used both spinning and casting rigs to troll. I have seen 10ft ugly sticks used. Casting rigs work better in the rod holders Line size seems to be the important thing. I usually use 10 lb mono or fluorocarbon. If I am bottom bouncing my leader will usually be 10#fluorocarbon My question is are the lead core and line counting reels worth it ? RPS-One of my best fishing buddies lived at Holiday Island. There may be one or two of his ashes at the confluence of the White and Kings.
  12. Yup, like the pheasant in the avatar. Either with an electric trolling motor or with the big engine. When it is really windy you can back troll to adjust your speed. Just wear your lifejacket and raingear. Be sure the bilge pump is working and the plug is in the boat. The heat is working on everybody
  13. Way back when the ice was thick on the ramps and the wind chill would fill the eyelets on our rods there was info on websites and "The Trolling Guide". As I dream of the cooler weather does anyone else remember the information??
  14. Straw: My best guess from my electronics last weekend is the thermocline is at 22 feet. Good luck and hang on tight!

  18. We were looking at property around Stockton Sunday. We noticed a bunch of boats flippin the brush. We just happened to pass old State Park Ramp about wayin time it was Thunderin/lightning and possibly hailing a little. Having been there and done that in the past I was hoping they had good results. Anybody know how they did?
