  1. I have read his articles in In-Fisherman for 15 years, so his name has been in the public eye for a long time. As has been stated, he never, in his writing, refers to it as the Ned Rig.
  2. I can't disagree. It's darn ridiculous how some people have such little taste.
  3. Yeah, but maybe he will fall to the Chiefs. I have a Tigers flag in the window beside her Chicken flag.
  4. As long as I can fly a Tigers flag, I am okay.
  5. Ness, probably not, protractor or not. It is, however, an old picture and I have evolved from a yutz to a putz.
  6. Dkman, read this thread.
  7. This is a good thread that needs to happen.
  8. Consider my interest piqued. I wonder why the lakes are all out east.
  9. The South Bend 59 is the most valuable rod there, but being a 9' 8/9 it might bring $150-350 condition depending. The two casting rods are not terribly valuable, but are neat pieces. Like was said, those Japanese sets don't hold much value as fishing tools, but as collectibles, they are cool. The Costelow is a trade rod, not made in KC, but sold here. It is probably a lower end Heddon or South Bend made and branded for a sporting goods store. The H-I Beaverkill is an not a valuable piece, but if in good shape, can be a fun rod for bass.
  10. That sounds like a spectacular way to spend an afternoon.
  11. Curado is sold pending funds. The three old Garcia Mitchell reels could leave as well. They all need gone through, cleaned and lubed, but the parts are right and they work. There is one 301 and two 300s. Each includes a spare spool. I would like $15 each plus $5 if I am shipping or all three shipped for $45.
  12. Can you elaborate on the Ned please? I hear it catches every species of fish that swims.
  13. Well done LRF! I love seeing kids catch fish.
  14. Its gone
  15. It'll work for you! Put in the time and you will be rewarded.
  16. I have a Martin 62 with box and paperwork. I am the only person to use it and it is spooled with an SA Mastery Trout in a 5wt.

    Ned Rig

Never been on a hot crankbait bite? How about weightless Senkos or maybe a buzz bait or walker? Your guarantee is flawed, much as the premise that the technique is new is flawed. I will say this, however. The Elaztech makes the Ned the Ned. It is buoyant as opposed to the regular plastics. It is more durable as well. I'm not a fanboy, just one who sees what the deal is between supporters and detractors. I have taken chunks of old plastics, craws without claws, half worms and the like, tossed them on a light head and caught panfish out of the Little Blue in KC and brownies from the Elk system, but I was fishing them aggressively, not passively like one does the Ned. I'm going to give the Ned a go this year, fished in its prescribed manner and will report my findings.

    Ned Rig

Wrench has hit on my original thoughts on this technique. I'm hoping to give it a go on some lake greenies later today, but honestly, I will have to leave other things at home to give it a fair shake. When I don't get bit, I start switching things up and if I'm going to try this, I'll have to eliminate the urge to switch.

    Jealous, party of me!
  20. Beautiful river 'eyes.
  21. Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Nice fish too.
  22. It's not the landowner's call though, legally speaking.
  23. Thanks guys. You've given me some great insight. I've got some research to do.
  24. What are some similar alternatives for the Wiggle Wart? I'm talking baits with a wide wobble, similar size, depth, etc. What do you prefer early in the year when most are tossing Warts or something similar?
