  1. So I decided to head North for a few hours before the Film Tour started. With only a few hours to fish I knew that I had to cover alot of water quick. Parked at the Pineville access and started walking downstream. Fishing was slow unitl I got below Kozy Camp. Picked up a few really nice fish in a couple of the faster holes. Decided it was about time to leave so I headed back upstream to fish the last good hole that has produced several nice fish in the past. Never fails there was a big fish and she was hungry.
  2. Co rd136 ends at the Parker Bottoms access. There's a couple pull offs on the left side of the road that go down to the water.
  3. I fished Crane on Monday and saw some redds without fish on them. I did see one redd with two fish hanging around it. I imagine the weather probably had them jacked up since its been a mild winter so far.
  4. As of last week Tablerock was backed up to Spider creek resort. I wouldn't worry about bigger boats, but if there is any wind you will have to paddle quite a bit.
  5. I like my Simms G4s, tough boot and excellent grip. About time for a new pair soon. Probably going with the Rivertek BOA boot/
  6. Peak rotary for me, and I like it alot.
  7. I would think that covering felt with cement would cause them to be very slick. I guess if you added studs to the boots they would be better than just rubber cement.
  8. Anyone else ready for the smallies to start biting? I know that I am.
  9. Seems like the cats like hanging out on the backside of the island across from the hatchery. My last trip that's where the big 30+ inch catfish was hanging out.
  10. So does this mean that the kids and parents that wade and swim in the catch and release area of Roaring river will be breaking the law also? They're going to have to hire some help if that's the case just to enforce the law. But heck half the time they don't patrol it enough to stop the bait fisherman.
  11. the restricted zones info is pretty helpful. I now know what counties the trout waters are in.
  12. Once the hackle soaks up some water it stays upright. I usually put a few drops of zap a gap at the front tie in point to keep the foam from twisting on the hook shank. I've used this fly for an entire day of fishing with repeated abuse and it held up very good.
  13. Gurgler fly that I started tying last summer for the smallies and largemouths on Elk river. Hope you enjoy.
  14. I think Tim may have some of the foam cylinders at his shop.
  15. The camera is a Sony hrd-cx150 with a uv filter, and 10x macro lens.
  16. Made a quick video tying a zebra midge. Mainly made this video to try out a new lens on the camera. I think it did a pretty good job.
  17. Here's my go to crawdad pattern. Bucktail, swiss straw, crawdad dubbing, rubber legs and dumb bell eyes.
  18. A little video I put together tying a sculpin pattern on a tube. Hope you enjoy.
  19. Judging by the picture the water looks to be clearing up?
  20. I have twin 8 month old girls that crawl over to my tying desk when I start tying. Usually sit one on my lap and let her watch. I predict they will be tying in the next year or so.
  21. The Lamson is no longer available. The 2 SAL-TROUTS are still for sale.
  22. I also have 2 older Pflueger SAL-TROUT no. 1554, both have the bulldog stamped on them. They are both usable and in working condition. $40 for both obo.
  23. Selling my Lamson Radius 1.5, it has SA trout wf4 on it. The reel and line are both used, but in good condition. I also have the neoprene reel pouch. $70 obo.
  24. I fished it last weekend and done OK. The water was still very off colored. Caught most fish on bright eggs and san juans.
  25. Here's one that I caught the 2009 catch and release season at Roaring River. Here's another that I caught last year.
