  1. Well put Seth, and there are few social affairs I enjoy more than having a big bon fire on a gravel bar, gigging and frying some suckers up and enjoying some Old Milwaukee with good friends "It doesn't get any better than this".
  2. His recievers can't get open, I think that was part of Cassel's problem, Avery looked good, now we need Bowe to step up, and clean up the penalties. Already better than last year!
  3. And therein lies the problem.
  4. If the giggers didn't have suckers to eat they would have to fill the freezer with smallmouth. You guys closer to the cities have some real problems, glad I am down here where people are a little more ethical although I guess we don't allow gigging on a good portion of the river.
  5. Trout do get gigged but most giggers don't like to eat them so they are often gigged on accident. Most new giggers gig a few before they get good at identification, they sit much stiller than suckers.
  6. That last loss made me lose sleep, figure I'm better off just checking the score the next day!
  7. H-(b+f)-m=p Ahh yes, from now on this shall be known as the Agnew theory of penetration.
  8. Very true, the incumbent regardless of party always has the upper hand, Bush and Obama both benefitted from being the incumbent, and while neither deserved to be re-elected their opponents were unimpressive as well so the nation went with the known product. I agree with you F&F, the constitution does not need much change, but the fact is it was written over 200 years ago and it must change with the times as the framers could not have predicted the crazy changes in technology that were to occur. I don't forsee a violent revolution unless it was to come from within the government, hard to imagine taking on our military with AR 15's and shotguns. A peaceful revolution is a distinct possibility as freedom of speech allows us to protest and have peaceful assemblies, which if joined by the majority could bring about significant change. Capitalism is always going to benefit the haves as it takes money to make money, not sure if it is harder now than in the past to climb the ladder of success, but most people seem to think so. Won't be easy to fix our debt as we want to take care of our seniors, and seem to want to be the world police, both of which take lots of money.
  9. Seems like a certain party uses guns and God to keep the have nots on their side against their best interest. I must say it is a brilliant strategy!
  10. I'm out, wasting that performance by Ventura makes me sick! Each game is a playoff game for the Royals and for our "great" bullpen to do that is disheartening. At least they have a good core to build on for the near future. Go Cards!
  11. Sounds like something too depressing for me, let me know if there is any hope!
  12. Our healthcare system is ranked 37 in the world (2 above Cuba) so obviously we had to make changes. Obamacare is not the answer, but it is a start. Instead of wasting time trying to repeal this legislation, we need to put the effort in to trying to make improvements to it. http://www.upworthy.com/his-first-4-sentences-are-interesting-the-5th-blew-my-mind-and-made-me-a-little-sick-2 this is a pretty simple non-partisan explanation of what is going on with our healthcare compared to the rest of the world. Fix these problems and we'll have plenty of money for our fish hatcheries.
  13. Don't forget mortality from the practice of catch and release angling. It might be a low % but it adds up.
  14. penalties, delay of game, missed protections, clean it up and we might really have a team! I'll take the win.
  15. Bray did show promise, would be nice if he could take over in 4 or 5 years when Alex gets old.
  16. I have a fly like looks like a full corn cob for the really big browns, just let it tumble down the shoals.
  17. Have you ever looked at the patternmaster and the thought behind it. They have some informative videos on their website that might interest a pattern junkie like yourself.
  18. My problem has been different with each different choke, although I have not patterned my IC since I usually only use it to quail hunt. My modified consistently shoots about a foot to the left while my full shoots a foot low. My IM is the only one of the factory chokes that hits where I point it, since the same problems are seen with different loads, I attribute the problem to the choke tubes themselves.
  19. I have been patterning my benelli Super Vinci using several loads and chokes and am only happy with the IM factory choke with light dove loads, not happy with anything shooting steel so I am trying to figure out which after market choke to purchase. I am leaning toward a patternmaster, but the price tag is a little bit of a deterrent. It will be well worth the $90 price tag if it results in more kills and less cripples, and the way they obtain a shorter shot string than constriction type choke tubes makes me think this would be the case. My father in law has a patternmaster and when he hits he usually kills. Any others have experience with this choke tube, or recommend others? Thanks.
  20. I don't carry a net, so I count it as a catch if I could have netted it. With trout if I can let them unhook themselves right next to me, that beats grabbing them and disturbing their slime coat, can be easy to do if you fish barbless (which I do with certain flies).
  21. I think the only ones who want to see Chase are Mizzou alum, he took way to many sacks in preseason, Alex is much better.
  22. Or not.
  23. Things are bad when outfitters have to pay cops to patrol, that's what I have a wife for!
  24. grammar not grammer, just busting your chops because you are a raider fan, and I'll continue to do so until you leave the dark side.
  25. What river is this, sounds like they have a big problem.
