  1. I'm thinking jimi might get off real cheap, finally a positive outlook on not catching!
  2. very true, sometimes I tie directly to the orange line and if they are hungry they will still bite.
  3. If it ends up being more runs than the other team, I'll take it!
  4. Not just a member, we have our own team.
  5. I embrace the pimp label, I do take offense as rivers being labeled ho's however.
  6. Are you seriously making a urine argument, that people peeing in the river are damaging the environment?
  7. At 350 cfs that is 2618 gallons per second of water, so a days worth of urine equals less than one second of water flow, doubt it has much impact.
  8. I'm sure they make plenty on the advertising for the event, like all other businesses their goal is to make money.
  9. wonder how they enforce that?
  10. River hours 9 am to 6 pm, I like that, not great for fishermen, but we could eat dinner as a family every night!
  11. Did find some info on the Pere Marquette which said there were boat limits and a permit you have to buy, which is included in a rental canoe. It says to get your permit 2 weeks ahead of time for your own boat, this favors the outfitters who have 750 canoes in the 2 county area as you can just show up and float. Limiting the crazy rivers would send business to the less popular rivers making it harder to find solitude anywhere in my opinion. Great blue herons flush if anyone comes by, but eagles will gladly watch drunks float beneath them.
  12. OTF, can you put up a link as to how these other rivers are permitted, I am having trouble finding any specifics. I'm sure you are aware that special use permits are required for onsr as well as any usage on national forest lands, and these limit boat numbers. Just curious on how this compares to Michigan.
  13. I like it Al, I can tack on an extra dollar a boat and make it up. Would cost me 3000 a year or so, on the crazy rivers would cost some outfitters 3 or 4 times that. I would just want to make sure it paid directly for patrols on the rivers.
  14. Pimp here, I wish we could get some color in the water here, any time we get a little color to the water the fishing is great, but rarely happens. I agree Biggiesmalls the hoes do have a way of recovering so it is all good, floaters are happy in summer, fishermen happy the other 9 months.
  15. Like usual Jerry and I agree. Pretty simple, the same few keep complaining, the majority roll with it, and many join in it.
  16. The problem with limitations is it will be the local people that at the spur of the moment decide they want to go floating or fishing that won't get to go. All the city folks that come to float and camp book months in advance so they will get to float while those that live and pay taxes here will be denied because the river is closed to any more boats. If I live a mile from the river and the govt. says I can't float because the river is too full I'm going to be pissed at the govt. overstepping it's bounds. If the hoards of floaters were causing actual physical damage to the environment I could see limitations, but you would be hard pressed to win that argument with me as one big natural flood that happens every few years makes anything floaters do irrelevant.
  17. As a pimp I am thankful American citizens have the freedom to legally enjoy our rivers in whatever way they see fit. For those breaking the law I think they should be caught and punished because that behavior ultimately hurts my business. I think the sign that prompted this thread is sad, and if that had to be put up on my river I would be furious. Lewd behavior is impossible to prevent but this sign seems to be throwing in the towel. I understand why it was put up, but sad it has come to that. I fished the other day and it was way too hot so I put down the rod and drank beer instead, much more fun this time of year than sweating and casting. For those who don't think it can be good wholesome fun to drink and float with friends you are missing out on one of the simple pleasures that makes living in the Ozarks fun! Don't let a few bad rivers a few bad outfitters, and a few drunk kids being stupid like I once was, ruin your outlook on our float streams. Plenty of rivers you can go to for good summertime fun, you just have to look.
  18. Today before I heard the news I had dubbed the rams as my team after quitting on the Chiefs (following last years playoff collapse) after 30 + years of mostly hearbreak. Sorry Rams, looks like the curse follows me. Now the Broncos are my team!
  19. Just eat raw with a touch of salt.
  20. Trip of a lifetime, hope you got to catch a fish!
  21. Has to be from seed that was cross pollinated, then it can happen, cross pollinization from a pure seed won't matter year one, but save the seeds and next year can be a hybrid.
  22. somebody throw this guy a bone and take him fishing!
  23. It is likely to pee on you unless you throw a tarp over it.
  24. You could try trapping it, or if you are sneaky might be able to shoot it!
