  1. Thanks for the help. I had a Lowrance up front, it was laying face down with the face cover on and I got caught in a thunderstorm Sunday and everything got soaked. Went fishing Tuesday turned it on worked for a few seconds the screen flashed then went blank. Then I noticed water seeping out the bottom of the screen. Long story short it was almost 2 months out of warranty having dealt with Lowrance last year that was not the way to go. Took it back to Bass Pro the new guy at first did not want to help me in his defense did not want to get into trouble but his boss showed up and immediately let me apply what I a gave for it aganist a new one which is all I wanted Kudos to them. Moral of story if you have a newer Lowrance keep it dry.
  2. I have a hand held GPS but to have it guide you to a waypoint you need to be moving about 2 to 3mph. Is it the same with the Hummingbird or Lowrance GPS depth finder combos or will they guide you to a waypoint at a slower speed? Thinking about buying one but the handheld still works if you can troll slower and still get a good reading to a waypoint that might seal the deal. Any replys would be help.
  3. You'll like your boat. I bought a Dominator last year from Susan at Tracy Marine and love fishing out of it. The double hull from front to back is what sold me. Rides great in rough water and is very stable. Good choice.
  4. I would like to see the corp and county get together and make some parking and turn arounds on some of the roads that deadend into the lake. When you go south of Beaver (Cedar Creek and south) most people launch from roads. There is room at normal pp but when it gets 15'and above it gets tight. The corp has enough land high up to acommodate this but the will to turn loose of the money????? That end of the world has lots of roads that stop at the lake and with more people fishing BS's it would be nice. If they could find a way to charge people I'm sure it would get done.
  5. I caught a few on a watermelon unbrella tube but I did better with a plain minnow. Let me know if the slab busters work for you I might be interested.
  6. Went past High Point caught 7 keeper crappie in 10 foot of water north banks. It got hot and the bite slowed. Lots of small bass.
  7. Fished above Highpoint yesterday water at Cedar Ridge was 39 about a mile past Highpoint water was 42.9 Seen all kinds of fish on graph, in and around the channel but couldn't get much to bite a few crappie and whites. Was still a great day to be out.
  8. That's good info. There are more stations in Springfield selling premium without ethanol. All the Signal stations and I think it's a Texaco at Glenstone and Seminole are the ones I know of.
  9. I'll bet you right there are two marked fishing spots nearby.
  10. Went to Cedar Ridge today it was iced up outside of the cove east past where the power lines used to be. By 1:00 it was clear to High Point. I never seen ice disappear so fast. The wind today worked wonders. If it's above 32 tonight it should be ok tomorrow. The corp cut and left some big cedars on the east lot I hope they find there way into the lake.
  11. That's a catch to be proud of. Thanks for the advice.
  12. There everywhere, I caught a 42lb between Bee an Bear last May and heard of two similar size ones coming out of Beaver. Not much to be scared of if your that big.
  13. Is the lake starting to freeze over?
  14. Both, a gray jig and or minnow. I am trying to figure out to reply.
  15. Hello everybody, I've been reading this very informative fourm for awhile so if I can provide any help I would glad to do so. Went crappie fishing yesterday and did pretty well in the brush piles 20 to 25 feet. Some piles are better than others and you need to move around. The bigger crappie for whatever reason seem more welling to bite. Keep up the good work
