So a buddy of mine is going to his wife’s highbrow corporate Christmas party, and I decided that we needed to make a list of subjects that were acceptable and not acceptable… I’d like any of you to add to the list if needed:
Things to talk about:
1. College Football
2. Favorite Restaurants
3. Your Children
Things not to talk about:
1. Jan 6th
2. Oct 7th
3. The 2024 Election
4. Gender reassignment procedures
5. Gun Control
6. Women’s reproductive rights
7. Flat taxation
8. Unsecured Border
Things that could get dicey:
1. Conventional vs fly fishing
2. Live Scopes in tournaments
3. Gay Flyfishermen
4. Really Really Gay Flyfishermen.
5. Dudes acting like they are great fishermen because they catch pellet pigs.
6. Rednecks thanking their creator for a fishing tournament win.
Can you guys add anything to this list??
I’m not a big fan of people saying God helped them win a fishing tournament, but I’m also not a fan of those who get really enraged by it. I’m enraged by babies being killed in partial birth abortions and also saddened by babies passing away from cancer. We are all hypocrites in some way. The best way to fix the world is look in the mirror…and that includes me.
Don’t judge me….just judge the Tackle Max craw today that caught at least 17+ pounds of smallmouth for the best 5. The craw excels in cold water. The water was super clear today with 12-14 ft visibility and 39 degrees on the Meramec.
I’ll agree with Al and Wrench somewhat for the religious aspect of winning a tournament but don’t know what the kid with cancer has to do with that. They might give much more money to Danny, Thomas Children’s Hospital than anybody else does, but you don’t know that.
You’re exactly right! Everyone adapts. The fishing industry has much more supply than demand at the moment. Free, voluntary trading will find the trade off set point.
