I vote for this being one of the biggest problems, last year I posted seeing thousands of asian carp at the confluence of the Meramec and Big Rivers. I have been there several times in the past few years and just noticed it last year. The amount of smallmouth in that area keeps getting less and less. That area has been a big fish spot in the past and I think it's almost completely dead now.

If you listen closely you can hear the chopping off of fins and heads.

Yeah, they said they would let me know. My guess is the Chinese are doing something shady, and will plead ignorance. That cultural revolution mentality won't let them think that fish are for anything more than being eaten. I've taken them fishing, they're not into catch and release.

You hit the nail on the head, they had snake heads, eels, ocean fish, smelt, trout, striped bass, etc. I think in the video the bass were $6.99 a pound

Went with my wife and her mother on our weekly trip to the Chinese market. Guess what was for sale? Thought it was illegal in MO. MDC says they they could have raised them for sale using a commercial fishing license but thought it wouldn't be cost effective to do that. They are sending an agent to check it out. Anyway the heck with spelling, I heard from a mutual friend that the fish should spawn in the rivers on the next full moon which is the 17th I think, As long as the river flow stays stable and there are no huge cold fronts. I was out twice last week and the fish seemed like they were getting ready. Had a couple grab my jig by the tail and head to the middle of the river. When I set the hook, nothing but broken or missing trailer. Spawning type behavior. I've got a couple of ideas for some new trailers I will be trying soon. I'll keep you posted.

Well said !! If everyone were completely, and I mean completely honest with themselves I don't think there would be too much difference in our political beliefs. I have been a small business owner since 1998, and my opinion has been slowly sculpted since then. A former union employee myself, I have been on both sides of the fence and can appreciate both perspectives. I will tell you that owning your own business and working for someone else are so different that neither one can be expected to understand the other side. I know you were a former school teacher Al and were probably in the NEA, just like Zipstick. You now have your own business and know the difficulties involved with things like deadlines, payroll, etc. We have different views base on many things, I'd venture to guess that your parents molded your opinion as well. The thing is, regardless of your beliefs there should be a respect on both sides (which you always show). I really doubt either of us will ever change very much, maybe a little bit though. I actually starting to agree with flytier57 a little, which absolutely scares the BJesus out of me.

My mistake Drew Not referring to you here but when posting I knew this wouldn't be a popular thread and I would get attacked for it, but it had to be said. What cracks me up is that a person with an opposing viewpoint can't state that opinion without some people getting personal and calling names. Speaking of White bass, I posted a couple of weeks ago I went 8 miles north of Mt.Ida, Arkansas and caught a bunch of females on the Ouachita river. All 2 pounds and above.The easiest fishing a person can ever do.
