  1. Well GreasyB took me out blue gill fishing at Busch Wildlfe and had a blast! This is one of the reasons I started thinking about it.
  2. I can't actually see the end result as efficient as conventional fishing. Someone tell me where I'm wrong PLEASE! Why would I enjoy it more?
  3. I've fished in only one river tourney on the Meramec with cwc87. I have mixed feelings about fishing river tourneys, but it wouldn't stop me from fishing another one. I guess if I thought it was a huge problem I would not do it anymore.
  4. Exile and Old Plug..... They say that by the time your ship comes in your dock has already collapsed
  5. Bait shops are dropping craws by the droves. $10K is too risky
  6. I bet we would be amazed regarding what constitues a bait becoming your confidence bait. I bet one memorable fish is all it takes! Maybe it was just a super aggressive, hungry, big fish and would've eaten a Budweiser beer can lure if placed squarely in its face.
  7. Really? Interesting
  8. It's a shame that 10 pounds of fish died because of a bad live well pump
  9. Funny, The only time I got nailed by a scorpion was in Oklahoma
  10. Black and Gold floating rapala..my dad's favorite (Muddy cow pond special)
  11. You're right Old Plug
  12. Well, we all know how to fish, we all know about equipment. Whats left for fisherman to talk about. Sometimes you need a strange post or this would be a boring forum. I find myself struggling to make up a good thread subject but someone has to do it right!! it's kind of like the marketing team at Taco Bell..... There are only so many new products you can create with Ground beef, beans and cheese. ( oh yeah, I have a great idea, we'll stuff a taco inside a burrito and fry it!)
  13. Glad to hear there are still those kind of creeks that hold decent sized fish in Missouri. I guess the otters and local minnow hurlers haven't ravaged everything.
  14. And in town it was well known when they came home at night their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their lives
  15. Between Steve on roller skates selling washers and dryers and "Uncle Leonard" Muntz, we sure had some memorable characters back in the day. Remember when "crossing the bridge" to go to St. Charles to buy fireworks or to Ken Bender Buick Pontiac was a big deal?
  16. #22 If you've ever been fired from your job at the Waffle House due to your appearance.
  17. It would look reeeeel good in that Vintage Royalex canoe!! Sorry accidentally deleted

  19. No worries, Taney is much easier to fish. Especially for the family. Why do you think most of the Table Rock guides take their clients to Taney in the summer? Good Luck and have a pleasant vacation!!
  20. Because you guys are such awesome bosses they stay upbeat!!
  21. You definitely reach the point of diminishing returns with rods anymore. The $400 rods of old can be purchased on sale of $150 or less today, possibly under $100. Yes, if you have the money and you use it often, it might be worth it to you. That last 5-10% of what makes a rod better will cost you out the nose...is it worth it?
  22. I'll pm you later today
  23. I've got a $100 brand new 6' 9" ML Veritas rated down to 1/8 oz I'll sell you for $50
  24. The Bevo Mill was Steve Mizerany and Joe Farrat, all from Lebanon
  25. I fished on the upper Gasconade a couple of weeks ago to avoid most of the flood water. The fish we caught were shaped like what I would consider to be a northern smallmouth, they were shaped like a football. They had a semi humped back with small to medium sized tails. They were very fat and aggressive. This is in contrast to the normal Gasconade smallmouth I'm used to seeing at or below the SMA by Jerome. The Fish on the lower stretch have typically been long and thin with extra big tails compared to their bodies. You would think 30-40 miles wouldn't make that much of a difference in the gene pool.
