  1. That area up to River Round is full of Smallie/spot hybrids. I guess the smallies figure If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with!
  2. The lady blew it pure and simple, regardless of left wing, right wing or whatever wing. Don't shoot the messenger. I have a small amount of trust in our elected officials being able to accomplish anything anyway. Since they brought it up, there is bias in any news organization, not just Fox, drudge or breitbart. Here's one for the Drew's in the world: Jeffrey Immelt is an Obama appointee Jeffrey Immelt is the CEO of GE GE owns 45% of NBC Don't act like there is any unbiased news period. As for fracking, I oppose it for the potential water table contamination.
  3. Did you catch any smallies over 13"? Did you catch any hybrid Smallie/spots?
  4. Drew, daddy's working.... I thought you were in time out and couldn't post anymore? Read the article and try to use big boy language like we talked about
  5. Yep, but ain't they all
  6. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/04/Genius-Democrat-Messes-Up-Vote-On-Fracking
  7. I'm extremely lucky to have Grandma from China living with us, the ultimate in taking good care of the little one and loyalty to the family. I travel quite a bit for my job and take off every once in a while to go fishing with no worries.
  8. Well, I went out on the Meramec about 10 days ago and really had a tough go of it with my jet boat. in 3 or 4 spots you only had about a 6-7 ft wide area to run thru. I've never seen it this low.
  9. Had one kick my butt financially once, not as much fun!
  10. Scott, Why are you fishing with my Crucial??
  11. Here's some more coverage: http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/326705/3/Festus-woman-going-to-the-Olympics
  12. You guys look like you had a great time! and caught some nice smallies too! Would have loved to seen a pic of the one you lost.......darn CX premium!
  13. I'm not a counter either, but in defense of the counters, it's the best way to quantify the quality of the stream and your ability to be a better fisherman. If you are trying to improve, it's a must. I equate it to golf.....how are you going to get better if you don't have a good baseline?
  14. There's a well known tournament angler at TR that uses the gamakatsu short shank EWG's on his wiggle warts...he's the guy who got me using those hooks. He always says he never loses a big fish anymore. If they are both short shank I like the Gamakatsu better but they are hard to find and you can pick up the KVD's at Walmart and are very good hooks.
  15. At least we got rid of Chlorodane! That stuff really worked though. Just get close and your lips get numb
  16. Dems a bunch of pictures to manage
  17. If the length of the shank won't interfere, I go with Gamakatsu EWG trebles, if there's a chance that the length might cause the hooks to get tangled, I go with the Mustad KVD short shank ultra points. With the short shanks you might actually be able to use a bigger size on the same lure.
  18. Gavin-Call me crazy but I even replace the hooks on a lucky craft before I use them, lost too many good fish and I dont take a chance anymore.
  19. Not about fishing I know, but I have been following this girl for years, she's quite an athlete. Made the Olympics on her final attempt at Javelin throw. http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/track-and-field/down-to-last-throw-borman-gets-london-berth.html
  20. did you hook em in the bottom lip?
  21. Went out with Zipstick last month and we pulled up to a spot and I told him someone was going to catch a big fish here. He blew it off and 3 casts later he caught a 21" largemouth. It's weird, I hardly ever make a prediction like that.
  22. Doesn't matter about the weight Hank, that's an awesome fish. That fish will vary in weight so much during the year it's best just describe it in inches. I've caught 19.5 inchers that weighed 3.2 lbs and a 19.0 incher that weighed 4 lbs. My best guess your fish would be 4.5 to 4.75 lbs. My opinion is in Missouri that a fat 22" would be 5-5.25 pounds. Anyway you beat my personal best by 1/4". My biggest is 21". Like I said don't get hung up on the weight, just know that hardly anyone will be able to top that on a river in Missouri.
  23. I heard that a guy caught a 19lb walleye in the Ha Ha Tonka spring cove in the winter about 5 years ago with live shad for bait. But that can't be proven
  24. Still catching up on work after our trip, I wish I could get out and catch a big smallie like Hank Franklin, but cant get past the work uptick. I think wading is a great idea on these streams now, keeps you cooler than a canoe and the water is too low for most of the jet boats. What kind of water makes you choose the Gunfish over your normal dog walkers?
  25. you'll find another that fits you better. Every time my buddy sees a beautiful hot chick he always says " I bet somebody somewhere is tired of putting up with her crap!"
