  1. Gotta call you on this one Cheif. You're grasping a little. I've run trot lines and limb lines too. Imparting action on a crankbait requires an order of magnitude more finesse than running a trot line.
  2. State record on a trot line......... Sung to the tune of dueling banjos: Would you play sum lynyrd skynyrd please Give me three steps or Mr Breeze Would you play sum Lynurd Skynyrd please
  3. You guys are very creative with all the care and ingenuity that goes into Kayak preparation. I know in bass tourneys, many times the proper use of a boat and boat control gives you a distinct advantage over other fisherman. This is no different, I think once you get good at using the proper techniques for all of this equipment, you will be able to catch more and bigger fish. Impressed! ps. Hey Paul, If your new wife bought you a kayak, she's definatley a keeper.....no catch and release here.
  4. That's a good jig for Bull Shoals, it's very telling that you like that color combination. I have been catching the bigger smallmouth over the years on jigs that have a combination of colors, like your brown/green. Not that a straight color won't catch a big one, but I think it may have something to do with the fish being able to see a contrast of colors better in deeper water. My go to river jig is a rusty brown hair jig with a green plastic craw trailer. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not.
  5. Thanks, Since I use my jet all winter long, I don't feel the need to put anything in my tank.
  6. Bill Jr- ill keep you posted. Al, the jig heads I put on them is too light but next ones I send will be heavier jigs for the bigger craw Thanks guys
  7. What do you know about the product Ring Free? I heard some good stuff. It didn't know if it was all hype
  8. Arkansas shiner is my favorite as well
  9. Just ribbing ya, I have two sizes. A 2.5" (Al's suggestion) and a 3" which is more of a summertime bait. The molds are very tough and time consuming to make. Small mold done by end of next week. Corey was the first besides me to fish one. He had good results and gave me good feedback with a few suggestions. Which size do you want?
  10. A vote against Obama in November could put you in exclusive field tester status!!!!!!!
  11. Wow, had my first 2 1/2 years ago, she will bring so much joy to your life! Congrats Btw, mine weighed 7-11 too
  12. I make my own twin wire weedguard football heads. It has a 2/0 hook that comes out just in back of the eyes.
  13. About a year ago I started making this craw, not quite ready for prime time yet but soon.
  14. Mitch's Clearwater craw is my favorite.....soon to be available at Bulls Eye Bait and Tackle
  15. I think joint health plays a major role. Not that I have any, I'm only 51, but the one oral supplement they actually have concrete data on that really helps is glucosamin and chondroitin. All the tests conclude that it rebuilds the padding in your joints. Most other supplements are a waste of money and too much hype. I think fish oil is one of the good ones also.
  16. OK, we've talked about it...now the dates are rapidly approaching. Who's in?
  17. 51 is a great age!
  18. If you soil your DEPENDS more than three times per day........
  19. I think you kind of get into a trance with Bob's voice and before you know it, you can't stop watching. I'll never forget watching the nature channel one time and there happened to be 6 people in the room, All of the sudden it dawned on me that we were all totally silent watching a deer chew on a leaf... btw, I appreciate the difference
  20. Interesting question, why do you ask?
  21. Alright Al, I'll bite. My theory behind my guess is that the lure has dated the sketch. Top sketch equals swimbait and therefore you used a computer. Pop-R.......old school!
  22. Even if you think someone is full of BS, that doesn't mean he is not worth listening to. Not one person on this forum has the secret insight on all the different topics. I'm fully aware of my weaknesses and can learn from anyone. Best thing to do is what Eric did and just let it go. On the wildflower subject- It's all about priorities, I really don't care about anyone transplanting wildflowers for their yard. Just don't gig or over-harvest any smallmouth and I'm good to go.
  23. Sorry to see him go
