I too thought the size at Montuak was bit bigger this year. I still think Bennett hasn't recovered from the hatchery issues and construction of a few years ago. At this point who knows though...

Usually that is something that Joe is given credit for...letting the sounds of the game take over. I thought Harold Reynolds constant yapping made that almost impossible. Overall I thought the commentary was pretty poor compared to years past. Not sure we see that same team again. It is also one thing to prefer to a different commentator, and another to call them biased. I think Joe can be arrogant at times, but I do not think he is biased toward one team.

Every year Joe Buck is accused of bias by both teams. Think about this: we spend all year listening to our home team commentators pumping up our team. When the playoffs come around that doesn't happen and we accuse the commenters of bias. It is especially bad in STL since Buck is a hometown guy and fans think he overcorrects. It is silly and It happens every year. It is in essence an impossible job. There is a reason his twitter handle is "I like every team except for yours." He hears it all the time...from both sides. You may or may not like Joe Buck, but it would be much much worse with another commentator.

Baumgarner was just on fire. maybe the best performance in world series history. Not much the Royals or any team could have done. Still a very impressive run and a great season for the Royals.

I read that Peavy has the 6th worst post season ERA by a starting pitcher ever. He can't get anyone out by pitching in the strike zone. He will nibble on the corners. If the Royals are patient they should hit him IMO.

One thing at Baldwin...check the weather and specifically the wind. If it is windy I would forget about it...as it becomes almost impossible to fish and is downright dangerous. These are boat or kayak tipping waves. If it is calm out go for it...variety of species....great access. Two years ago my buddy and I caught boatloads of channel cats on a fly rod and a gut fly.

Pinkel did state after the game that they pretty much were ultraconservative on offense especially the second half. They only called two pass plays after halftime. I am not sure if I agree with that philosophy, but it was clear Florida wasn't going to score so I guess they felt why risk it. Yes, absolutely weird...That is something that won't be seen like ever...

I don't think the Giants are a very good team. Hudson and Peavy are not very good anymore and the lineup doesn't really scare anyone. However, they know how to win in October and Botchy is a very good manger. They won't make mistakes. The only concern I would have is the layoff and the possibility that KC comes out too amped up...leading to mistakes. If KC limits the mistakes they should have a great chance to win in my opinion.

You guys nailed it. It is tough to hit 8 homeruns and lose in 5 games...never could get a hit to put the game away.

It was really interesting reading the interview with Henson. He basically touched on many of the things we have all been saying while not trying to pile on Mauk. 1) Mauk's height is not a problem 2) He leaves the pocket to quick 3) We need to block better, but Maty needs to handle the pressure better. 4) There were receivers open, but it is hard to find them when your scrambling. So basically the big issue is Maty and his pocket presence. He is gonna have to take some licks to make some plays. I wonder if they should just simplify the playbook and take 10 pass plays with similar formations and run them for one half and then change it up to another set at half time. Keep it simple for Maty and build from there. He looks like he is thinking instead of just reacting.

Don't let him get to you. He has been doing this unprovoked all year and hates the Cardinals. I can only imagine what will happen if we have an I70 series! I would like to see Molina and his Uterus (preferably at full strenght) square off against the KC run game. Go Cards!
