The guy can coach for sure. I worry about a bit about his recruiting. I am more sold after listening to the press conference. He seems like a standup guy who fans will want to see do well. Tim Fuller staying on was a big announcement today...he can recruit. Can anyone name the three other coaches who interviewed in 1999 when Quinn Snyder was given the job? 1) Kim Anderson 2) 3)

At least Alden won't have to worry about him leaving for Tulsa.

Yep, to all the post above. Crawford stole game 3 for Chicago and Miller could not steal one for the Blues. Game 5 loss was a killer. Cubs of hockey is correct...they just can't get over the hump.

Season 10 started last Tuesday. Very interested to see how the Cornelia Marie does during Opie season. Looks like it was a very dangerous season for the fleet.

I think when and if MU/KU meet in the future it will certainly be intense, but if that is 20 years from now your right it won't have the same type of intensity. They will have to play before a generation goes by without remembering what the rivalry was like. Self has been really vocal about not playing MU while he is the coach at KU...so unless he changes his mind it is probably unlikely to happen. He shows no signs of letting it go though. It seems a bit extreme to keep saying "we will never play again as long as I am coach" when they would have made the same decision if given the chance. I also think it is silly that MU won't play SLU and KU won't play Wichita State. You play 30 games in basketball 1 game is not going to matter if you lose and lately those would have been considered quality games. Neither program is a threat to the long term stability of the "big" programs and they don't even recruit the same type of players. I would schedule MU in heartbeat right know...they are going to be terrible next year...I mean terrible.

I think the Cardinals are gonna be in trouble this year. They can't hit and they can't field. Matheny doesn't trust anyone in the bullpen besides the big three. It is early, but nearly everyone except for Molina has regressed. They need to call up the boys in Memphis who are knocking the cover off the ball. Ballpark Village is impressive though...going to make a fortune for the Cardinals.

It is not MU that won't play KU it is KU that won't play MU. Haith left before he was told leave...that is kind of obvious. MU is going to be a bad team next year regardless.

If we could only be so lucky...rumors flying about Haith to Tulsa. Make me wonder if Haith is getting out before he gets fired...cause next year is going to be awful.

It sounds like DGB had some other issues that we/media were not aware of. Pinkel hinted at that after he cut him....really makes me wonder what else he did. The kid had everything in front of him and he couldn't keep it together for one more year. I could careless about the weed stuff...but the dude clearly has some issues. Regardless, it will hurt to lose him next year, but 100% the right decision.

I thought SLU was a goner too...pretty incredible comeback. I still can't believe all the free throws that were missed. Saw a stat this morning that both teams shot better from the field and 3 point line than from the free throw line. NC state is good free throw shooting team so that was surprising. Many of the games yesterday were thrillers....one of the most exciting I can remember. SLU has a really tough matchup against Louisville, but you have to respect how hard SLU plays. It is not very glamorous, but they certainly get the most of their players. Should be fun to watch!

SLU has to get passed Louisville in the second round...gonna be tough to win that game. Louisville should be better than a 4 seed. I'd say Virginia has a chance...

In a normal year, I would be really upset with MU basketball. This year, I still have a hangover from football season...so I am not as disappointed. Haith was left without a recruiting class his first year and we are seeing the effects the last several years. Next year there must be improvement.

Your exactly right...no inside presence at all and the effort seemed lacking. We are just not a good team and the young guys are not ready. Think next year will be rough too.

Bobby night had nothing but nice things to say about rosburg...who looked god awful. Knight said I have him on the court first thing tomorrow morning...he cost mu 8-10 points. looking forward to the time these games matter...not much going on this year sadly.
