  1. I got in on some of that tic action last Sunday. Good times!
  2. Very good show in STL last night. I thought it was better than last year and last year was great. Some of the shots and stories are highly entertaining.

    That is a great fish!
  4. "Surviving the Game" ozark style. Wonder if Ice Tea is available for a cameo.
  5. I love catching me some rainbows too. The challenge of catching a brown and the ability for them to grow much larger puts them a notch above stocker rainbows for me. A 20 inch wild rainbow would be the ultimate in Missouri. I like them both basically...
  6. I am for the 1 brown trout over 20, but 1 over 18 would make me happy too. I am baffled by those that think brown trout are managed strictly as a put and take fishery. Brown's are manged much differently for good reason....they have the ability to grow much larger and they are stocked at a much lower rate. IMO they are managed as a put and grow fishery that has a serious flaws at the end of Montauk and the start of the Blue Ribbon area. The Current is a unique situation with the ability to grow trophy size fish. Allowing 4 browns to be harvested in the park is actually preventing the management goal for Blue Ribbon area from reaching its full potential. As Gavin said it makes no sense and is a serious oversight IMO. If you want to harvest 4 brown's in the park then they should be stocked that way....which they are not.

    Ouch

Most dissapoiniting loss in school history. Duke just lost too
  8. Nicely done wrench. I tie some very similiar to the first picture...I like to use black/yellow legs or black/orange as well. Nice sounds like a winner to me.
  9. If the aren't hitting on top I tie a very simple pattern similiar to a Cap Spider. Black Chenille for the body and two rubber leg on each side. It has worked very well for me.

Ku/mu 3 would be unbelievable. Another point about rpi is you dont have complete control over your ranking. The teams that should normally be good may have sn off year and your kinda out of luck...so it can make scheduling difficult
  11. I probably lean toward numbers to a point, but after a while I want bigger and better. I guess it depends on the day. I wade fish and sun up to sun down is usually a full day for me.

My understanding is the last number one seed and the last number two seed both got put out west because thre are no teams in the west that are good this year. Ku, duke, and ohio state received regional preferance because theyvwere considered higher two seeds than mizzou. Still seems ridiculous that mizzou was ranked low, but the regions kinda make sense following that logic as silly as it seems.

Yep mizzou was the last # 2 seed and according to the selection commitee never discussed for a 1 seed. I can see that considering the strength of schedule hurt them. Villanova, cal, illinois, really hurt since they all had poor seasons... Compared to normal. What i think is total bs is mizzou was the last # 2 seed...no respect. They should have been 5 th and playing in stl.

2 seed in the west. Haith looked pissed. Ku will be 2 in st. Louis.

I hope mizzou gets a one seed but sounds like the "experts" have them as a two seed. Either way mizzou played great the last three games and looks poised to make a deep run. Pressey maybe one of the best point gaurds in the country when he is on.
  16. Those Coosa look great...gonna have to get me one at some point. Did they rock a bunch when fly casting from them? Gavin that picture on the bottom right is way cool...
  17. A well behaved dog is great on a fishing trip. I have a Siberian Husky that is probably the best dog I have ever owned. I would love to take him with me on trips. Unfortunately, if they get off a leash they just want to run for miles on end. I take him out to lakes when I am just messing around and can keep him close. Thinking about taking the German Shepard with me on a few trips this next year. He needs a bit more training around other people and is only 2.... so he will need to calm down before I would consider it. He is 115 lb's so he might be a bit a large for a canoe as well.
  18. Just another reason I am glad we are moving to the SEC. This kind of stuff has gone on and on for years. Haith deserves the honor hands down.
  19. Fished the area on Saturday as well. My buddy caught a solid brown in 3 lb range and we spooked a couple more, but no other hooks ups on browns. Caught some decent rainbows, but saw very fish...actually did not see any below Baptist on Saturday afternoon. MIght have been the day (post cold front is never good), but It was slower than I usual my last few trips down.
  20. When I first transitioned from spinning gear to baitcasting gear...I went through 3 cheap baitcasters in about a month. It was some cheap $40 reel from Cabela's sponsered by Bill dance so it seemed like a good deal. It was horrible. After 3 I got my money back and bought a Citica. For me that is my magic price point for a reel and about *80- $100 or so for a rod. I like the value of the $200 setups and it is a comfortable price point for me. I can also have 3 or 4 set ups in that price range. I would be terrified to use a $700 set up for fear of breaking or losing it. All that being said you can fish with any type of gear...expensive or economical...but there does come a point when quality will help.
  21. Yep, that too. He has a few weird views that are deal breakers for most.
  22. I would love to see Mizzou play in St. Louis as a #2 over a #1 elsewhere, but I think that is gonna be tough. If Kansas wins out they should be a #1 in St. Louis. In that case I don't think Mizzou would be a #2 in St. Louis. Some unwriten rule that the committe tries to keep conferance foes out of the same bracket if possible. The tourney also tries to keep teams regional so the best #1 seeds stay close to home. That puts Syracuse, Kentucky, and Kansas in regions close to home. Since there is no dominate team out West this year the 4th #1 seed ends up out West (Carolina or Duke). Then you do the same with the #2 seeds. Mizzou would likely be a highly ranked number two and should end in the midwest, but If KU is a #1 in that bracket Mizzou won't be a #2 in that bracket. With Mizzou being essentially homeless and the furthest west of the #2's they go West. Now if If KU would lose to a team in the conferance final other than MU and Carolina/Duke don't meet for the ACC championship I could see a possibility of KU retaining a #1 seed, but out West. Then maybe MU ends up as #2 seed in St. Louis. Off course this can all change with a couple losses from each team....that is why I love this time of year.
  23. Yeah, the government is all screwed up. It is darn near impossible to find the truth these days. If only Ron Paul's stance on Iran and our military wasn't so messed up he might actually give himself a shot.
  24. Lot's of options available to Mizzou with respect to seeding. Win the Big 12 tourney and you get a 1 seed. Win at Texas Tech and win a few in the Big 12 tourney but don't win it and you get a #2. Lose at Texas Tech and the first game of the big 12 tourney and you might get a #3. Ohio State and Michigan State look destined for a #2. The way I see it is Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke/Carolina, and Kansas/MU are the available options for #1. SLU needs to avoid an 8 or 9 seed if they can and would do them well to win the A-10 tourney. If Kansas wins out and ends up in St. Louis as a #1 seed I don't think the committe would put Mizzou as a #2 seed in St. Louis. I think Mizzou will end up out West.
  25. Yeah, just a bit muddy I'd say. I wonder how many fishing lures you could find stuck in the mud? Maybe a body or two as well.
