    That is the beauty of this country, there are still places where someone with private land can do what they want. I think $5 to park is a great deal, I pay $10 to park on crooked creek and its still a great deal.

    On the way home I decided that I am going to go to non-lead split shot. If studies say that lead split shot increases mortality in fish then I will swap.

    Excellent topic OP, and thanks for the responses because I was just thinking about this myself. I intend to fish hard all fall and do some learning. During the summer I have had better luck with higher flows and slightly off color water for bigger fish.

    The sad truth is there will always be some environmental group wanting to stop you from doing what you want regardless if they have a valid reason or not.

    I have been watching it closely....I think we could power fish from snow to the slab in 5 hours maybe by monday it will be tamed back down

    Norfork tailwater will not be affected by the rain, lake norfork is down quite a bit and it will still be clear.

    please show some proof that ice is melting and that we are causing it. In fact please prove global warming. BTW, proof has come out that VAST amounts of scientists were misquoted and paid off to LIE about the truth. Yes it is. If they get their money from groups whose sole purpose are to stop people from doing anything they do not like(which includes all forms of fishing) then logic dictates that the organization will do the same.

    we are too far north for alligator gar. It wouldnt surprise me to catch a 20lb gar in the river. The biggest gar I have caught was 4ft long 20lb alligator gar.

    The gar look big in the buffalo but world records they are not. I have caught my bigger fish on the buffalo in deep pools and when its sunny I have caught them around rocks. Smallmouth squeeze under the smallest gaps to get under rocks.

    According to the small amount of research I did on google, China is the largest tungsten producer in the world(which was posted earlier in this thread). I like how you phrase things like "tons". Very precise. You make it sound like every year there are tons of weights tossed into a single body of water which is of course absurd. BTW, "unleaded" bullets are outlawed because they are considered armor piercing, except for copper which is astronomically more expensive than lead and does not shoot nearly as good.
