  1. research shows prostate health is directly correlated to orgasms. tell your wife to do her part to help out!
  2. Did you use the forumula with teflon? Have you touched it up?
  3. I am not sure where I am gonna mount one...I am afraid to drill holes in my hull hah
  4. comparing a pond with catfish to a stream with trout is apples to oranges.
  5. I agree. I honestly doubt otters do much damage to fish populations. Crustaceans are much easier to get.
  6. I bet they spend their time eating the abundant crawfish...they would taste way better
  7. I was very careful when building the pods/tunnel to keep that issue to a minimum. So far so good.
  8. For sure it is. The marsh is way easier with a jet boat. If there is any breeze I can run anywhere there is ripples.
  9. I think most boats will run 2-3" for a short run, but hardly any will do that for a long shoal. Its really hard to tell how deep the water is when your running up. Maybe when it warms up I will do some testing. For now I can just say I am very happy with the setup
  10. I have pods on the back so it actually sits higher in the water. The tunnel does two things. One it raises the motor above the bottom of the boat. Second and most importantly, it funnels water to the jet. Coupled with the pods the water stays "compressed" further out of the tunnel. Will it run shallower than other jet boats, that I don't know, but it will run plenty shallow for me.
  11. Welcome to the forum!
  12. I have found that with the tunnel I dont start sucking gravel until the boat is already beached.
  13. That would be cool if you have a big boat. I can drag my boat with 1 hand though.
  14. It would be a great project to do yourself. You dont need to know anything about fiberglass since it sounds like there is no damage. If your going to coat the bottom(which would be a great idea since you will be dragging on rocks on the buffalo) I would look into steelflex epoxy with teflon. Mainly used on aluminum, it greatly reduces the drag coefficient, to the point that you can push the boat while on hard ground easily. Those commissary boats were built like tanks
  15. what is your budget? I see 25hp jets often on faceplace for under 2k, but I suspect those days are about gone.
  16. My (worthless) opinion is there are two things missing from this discussion. no one has mentioned that stocked trout from cloud 9 ranch(on spring creek) surely enter the river every year and affect genetics. The dam was removed because young people have died, but when removed they displaced the largest population of ozark hellbenders in the river Personally I think they should not stock the river, the beauty of the NFoW is that the trout are not stocked. If the fish cannot survive natively then they should die off, I would never support damming the river. As a drunken summer floater I am appalled but not surprised by some of the responses here, but I highly doubt I am going to stop too🤣
  17. The old style river boats are really displacement style hulls, meaning they dont really plane out as much as just go.
  18. What width and length is your shawnee? If its a 20x48" a 25/20 will be fine. One thing to keep in mind is if this is the original style shawnee it has quite a bit of rocker built into it and the boat will NEVER go fast. I had a similarly built JS 42" wide bottom many years ago and I wanted more speed so I put a 25hp(prop) on in place of my 9.9. I netted 2mph gained and way worse fuel economy.
  19. Hey, I stopped standing up when you told me to.
  20. He did really good. I told him before we got on the boat that I was the captain and he was the deckhand, and that he needed to do exactly what I said when I said it. He listened great.
  21. I think this incident was an isolated failure. I am not giving up on lithium yet. They are going to warranty this one. The next one I buy will definitely be a iron phosphate chemistry, they are considerably safer.
  22. He loves to fish, just can't do it for very long without catching anything yet. Next week we are going to texas for a week and he will love it there.
  23. they definitely will be replacing it, and I have not given up on lithium batteries.
