Until you get used to running shallow water ease up to the shoal and stand up to get a good look at the water. the 11 point is a very forgiving river IMO because its mostly all gravel and small rocks.
I want to go fishing tomorrow but cant decide where. I can fish the south fork of the spring out of the canoe(3 mile float), or I can fish the buffalo river out of the river boat. What do ya'll think
If you intend to be on a lake get the canoe. I have two of the FS12 yaks and they are decent yaks but I have quit using them in favor of soloing my 16ft buffalo canoe.
Norfork still has plenty of white bass. The most amazing thing I have seen was white bass boiling the surface of the water on lake Somerville near Brenham, TX. Everything we through caught fish.
I ran it on one unit in my boat with my 70+ yr old neighbor on board. he is basically blind so he was completely oblivious to what was going on. On the way down we got hung up and I had to get out and push the boat. not fun.
riverton on down on eleven point is a great place for this boat. pretty much all gravel. Stay away from buffalo shoals on no units until you have brass balls, heh.
if you got the supreme setup for jets then IMO it should plane with 3 people. If you got a factory 25 it is actually a 40, the 40hp is actually a 60 so the weigh difference would have been another cylinder(30lb or more). You want to be on your A game to launch at the narrows and go up.
I have fished from riverton to myrtle, with most of the fishing around the narrows. I havent fished the lower reaches of the river. Let me know if you need someone to go with, I like that river in the winter.
