  1. If he owns 5 miles on either side of the creek he will obviously have a bunch of money and the sheriff is his friend. Interesting that he handled it like that. I have met several landowners on the creek downstream from there and they have all been nice. one time I was wading and met a guy on an atv that had a .22 on the front rack. very nice person. Never camped though.
  2. do you use flouro weedless hook guards any?
  3. every boat is a money pit.
  4. any more fun and I wont be able to drive home!
  5. I thankfully know absolutely nothing about common core, my son is 2 and we are going to home school him. No matter what kind of trendy teaching practices we have in the US, the decline of family values will drag our test scores down. There is just no way around it. We need to quit trying to get every high school kid "ready for college" because in all honesty less than half should actually be there. We need to focus on teaching kids how to actually get along in life, I mean for gods sake ask a cashier to make change without a computer and see what happens!
  6. the loss is 30%if the jet is tuned properly.
  7. looks great, when is the drift boat consortium this year?
  8. I like them but they sure seem hard to get
  9. Maybe next year I can fish the tourny, I am wanting to upgrade this year
  10. good eatins!
  11. I am trying to talk the wife into wintering in texas and summering here....not working yet. I am mulling around ideas on building a flats boat.
  12. we drove home from tyler today and the wind was insane the whole way home.
  13. I can stand up in my buffalo, not easily but I can.
  14. I actually like the nucanoe design. I tossed the idea around for taking my young son fishing with me and I may get one in the next few years for fishing southfork but for the weight IMO a coleman crawdad would be better.
  15. water temp got up to the high 50 low 60s. Right after we left I talked to a local at a gas station that told me what I was doing wrong. Apparently the south wind pushes bait and fish way back in the bays. He told me to go to cowtrap and fish the cut across from the mouth. The tides were ALL screwed up. It was a learning experience. I am already planning another trip, but it will be probably around matagorda. I ended up boating about 10 fish. 6 keeper reds, three rat reds, and a 17" trout. Here is a pic of the biggest red:
  16. Goggle-eyed, send me a text or pm and I will gladly share the info. This place has the highest concentration of redfish you are likely to ever see without going to venice, LA. That being said so far our trip has been a dud. The weather has been TOO good. The colder it is the better the fishing is. We fished yesterday, today, and I am fishing in the morning, but so far we have only boated 5 keeper reds and one real nice 17" trout.
  17. that depression was probably for a stick on weight. I bought two early warts at a pawn shop in batesville
  18. LEss than a week until we leave....I cant wait to wear a pair of shorts outside!
  19. thanks for the report. I am curious how night fishing on the white is? Some of those shoals are bad enough during the day, I couldnt imagine at night.
  20. I really would rather forget about it! It was horrible, you couldnt go anywhere, and we were without power or water for 14 days. For two days the only meter turning for north arkansas electric was at Eaton. I was lucky enough to be able to shower at work. I had a very small cheap harbor freight generator that saved our butts for those two weeks.
  21. I am game. How about we have one next time we have a get together. That table in the cabin was plenty big, lol
  22. I'm game anytime except when we go to the coast next month
  23. Next time call me ya bum. I don't care if I'm sick lol
