Terry Beeson Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 That looks like Calico Rock and if it is, there was also a house that ran through there and sheared the roof off. I don't think I'll be crossing the White at Calico for a while... Mountain View ain't that temptin'.... WebFreeman Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 They had it on KY3 last night and said it was Calico Rock. They had to break it up to relieve the pressure. Terry, I bet if you drive fast enough, you'll make it. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
RiverRunner Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 This is Jenkins Trout Dock at Calico, this dock has been here for many years and I believe it withstood the 1982 flood. The Jenkins have had a dock in Calico since 1958, so they've seen some floods before. I would bet they get it replaced and get back in business pretty quick. I've got some friends who own Lindsey Trout Dock about 3 miles upriver, I am very curious if they made it. I sure hope that they did, I have a lot of good memories of that dock.

Ham Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Hey Terry. I spoke with someone who was there and photographed the two story log cabin hit the bridge. The house went down stream in much smaller pieces. It was pulverized rather than just had the roof sheared off. He said it was very surreal. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
