Bill Babler Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Just spoke to Big Cedar's top house guide and he really had a fine day in the dam area. Water is starting to clear, some of the major creeks and larger coves are starting to get some pretty nice visibility. He and his clients caught them yesterday on the blade, but said today was a different deal. Grub fishing, sitting the boat in the 30 foot zone, about a full cast from what looks like the bank. Swim your 3/16 oz. 4 or 5 inch grub as close to the bottom as you can muster, hopefully almost reeling it vertically up when you reach the boat. Your not going to get rich, mind you. But if you are in the right spot, a group of a dozen mixed smalley's and K's might come your way, in a 4 hour outing. Move it slow and slow means slow. Good luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

denjac Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I had a differant day in the dam area with the same bait a grub. I didnt get bit by spots smallies or Lm. But I did get bit by whites. They tore it up and were all the large kind 15- 18 inches. White semed to be the magic color. They wereny really stacked up but About 5 fish an hour but they sure were fun. From about 1:00 pm- 5:oopm I believe they are going to go nuts this week. All were caught in the back of the creeks and I mean the backs. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. denjac Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I was in the backs of creeks. They were 8- 20 ft deep. Up close to the banks or out in the middle did not make any differance. sfiser Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 What is the clarity of the water there at the dam?? By those pictures it looks pretty stained. How stained does it have to be for you to not be able to swim that grub???
