Way to go Bill. Don't put up with that horse puckey. If they're good enough to fish tourneys, they should be able to find their own fish. Yeah, a tip or two is great-- and we all greatly appreciate the FREE information that you guides share on this forum (I know I speak for everyone)... but these guys apparently want you to (virtually) find the fish, cast, work the bait, set the hook, and land the fish for them... and all for FREE! And I agree with Champ188... to me, the hunt is half the fun! To find them and catch them because YOU figured them out is 100 times better than someone putting you right on them. Don't get me wrong... I will and do take a tip or two now and then and then formulate it into my plan-- nothing wrong with that, and those little tips and pointers are MUCH APPRECIATED-- but these guys need to get a clue. So Bill (and all you other great guides who make a living doing it) stick to your guns. Even nice guys have to draw the line sometimes and just say NO!

By the way, I am relatively new to the forum. I want to say that this forum and all of the guys that contribute to it are really great and much appreciated.

Good luck on the water to all... Go out and Whack'em Good!

First off a long overdue THANK YOU to Phil for this wonderful site and Bill for sharing so much information. This is by far the best site I have found for fishing information in our area. I can not fathom someone calling and asking for FREE information beyond what is posted on this site. I have found Bill's post very informative and there is more than enough information for me to go out there and have a starting point. I hope that everyone will be respectful Bill and the other guieds that provide information so that those resources do not go away.

In case we need to call you, Bill... What was that number again? Just kiddin'...

I don't blame you a bit. I admit that I will lean in close when someone with knowledge like you has something to say. But I would not think about calling a professional guide for some free fishing information. That's just downright rude. Now if I know him, and he is a pretty close friend, and I want to call, I might say something like "are you busy?" and if he's with a client, then I'd just say... "OK... I'll call later or give me a call when you can..."

Did these guys indicate who was suppose to be paying you for providing this information? Heck... I'd like to get on THAT payroll myself.... B)

I'm probably just repeating whats already been said but its worth saying again....Thanks so much for all the reports you guys give. Bill, I was worried when I saw your post with you phone number in it that people would try and take advantage of that. Like Terry said...to me calling a professional guide and trying to get free information is really rude, but I guess some people just don't care about that. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all you do.

Bill, I was worried when I saw your post with you phone number in it that people would try and take advantage of that.

I had that exact thought when I saw u post ur number. Its amazing how everything in life can be ruined by just a small percentage of A**H*LES that dont have the BRAINS to realize how STUPID they really are. I greatest hope as i read the topic and replies from the people that understand how ignorant of an idea it was that u got paid for this great service and they DESIRVED u to further it, is that they will be reading and realize now what we all think of such an idiotic idea.

Some people just dont have a clue, cant buy one, cant find one.

Now, I hope that it doesnt take away from the appriciation that u and all the other guides should feel as we (well most) HUMBLY try to express, for all the info that u send to us. I also hope that the info doesnt slow because of such a small percentage of people, that showed who they really are.

Maybe some of them will post hear and apologize for their actions.

Hey Bill,

My phone has been ringing off the hook as well seems like more this year than usual, not sure if it is gas prices or the high water but dang.... Anyway you have every right to vent, you and Phil do a great job with this site and if a guy can't put a pattern together with all of the info shared on this site maybe they should take up golf. Of course then they'd be trying to call Tiger......

See ya Tuesday!

Reading Bills post shocked me. I wouldn't think that people would be so inconcerdate. And being so called sportsman o top of that. Hey Bill and other guides here how many people(that arent fellow guides shareding info) call you up and TELL you where the fish are biteing, conditions, depth and so on. I doubt very many so next time someone does that ask them what they do for a living and tell them you will give free info for trade, say your basement needs finished, taxes done, concrete poured, heck why not a new house. I have ran into guides while fishing, its hard not to on Tany but as they drift by with their clients I dont ask what they are hitting on. For one its not far to the client that paid for the service and I wouldnt want someone bugging my guide but I also wouldnt want the guide to lash back possably causeing a nasty situation. Secondly it not fair to the guide wanting to help the client being distracted by non paying customers. I comend you Bill and others that dont do what myself and many others would do and make the seen. Good luck fishing and make sure it stays fun by not letting some half wits ruin your job.

Next time someone says you get paid by the site ask them how much they pay to get on the site and how much advertiseing goes up and down the sides pop ups and what not.

Personally I think the guides should capitalize on it by charging for the info, via a newsletter, maps, etc.....go ahead Bill, sneeze!! Make it a reasonable fee and make some money! I can understand why you are upset!!
