Bill Babler Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 This is fun, keep trying. No one is close to the correct answer yet. This is a slang term for a bait that the BassMaster Elite pro-anglers love to throw. Should not be that hard, someone will come up with it soon. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
zander Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 from the page : http://www.basszone.com/2007eliteseries/cl.../day3/story.htm "Paul Elias has made his bones with a crankbait. Coming to clear lake where tennis shoe-sized swimbaits rule the water, Elias doesn’t sway – he’s still fishing a crankbait." So I am guessing it is one of those huge swim baits you see on tv all the time.
Whack'emGood Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Sounds like a big swimbait to me... He keeps you hangin' on until you can take no more, than he shows you the price!...............and Zander.............I bet your Price is Right! - (sorry, gettin' a little loopy at work..............maybe we've got a gas leak?)
MOBass Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I would say the what is the easy part of the question. My guess is the real secrets are in the when, where, and how.
CMAC Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 MOBass: That is the true mystery, but also the most fun and rewarding, the when, where and how!
Whack'emGood Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Sounds like the Bills (Beck & Babler) didn't catch any bigger fish with it yesterday than they probably would have with a 4" grub though. I guess the key is... you have to get it in front of a bigger fish with any lure. I imagine that you might have a better chance at getting one to bite with the swimbait though. So they say anyway. To speak for myself... I don't mind catching 2.5 to 3.5lb fish all day. Of course, I wouldn't mind catching a 4+ once in awhile though. denjac Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Is this it???? Description Winner of the 2007 Catch Of the Year Best New Product - Swimbait Category from ProBassAnglers.com!! From ProBassAnglers: "Oh my...." rarely does a lure take your breath away, but the new Tru-Life Swimbaits from Tru-Tungsten will blow you away. Designed by Western anglers Matt Newman and Ish Monroe, the lures are the new age of swim baits. Actually three baits in one, the Tru-Life baits can be fished on the surface, mid depth range or in deep water. The lures come with "tungsten balls" that can be added or subtracted depending on the fall speed that you are looking for. The price point, $69.00 for the large trout, will take your breath away, however, if you consider that buying one Tru-Life bait takes the place of buying three different swim baits, the price seems to make sense. The most dramatic part of the lure, however, is the action. The bait can be burned without hurting its action. Also, burning the bait and then stopping the bait causes the lure to change profile, as the head of the trout turns backward, as though it were looking to see if it was still being chased. The turn to a head first profile, back in that bass' face, is what will trigger followers to become strikers. This is a very cool bait. Specifications-Hard plastic, incredible detail in the finish. The bait is available in a large trout, a smaller trout and an adult bluegill. The lure cavity may be opened to add or subtract tungsten balls which change the fall speed of the lure. But I saw footage of the tru-tungsten swimbait posted somewhere online. They made it stop swimming briefly, and look behind itself like mentioned in the article. It is completely creepy to see it happen. Very cool and realistic looking!............but $69 cool....................not for a worlking stiff like myself.
