I don't wear watches... but I need one heading to Alaska.

Anyone have good luck with any particular brand or model?

Well my Rolex is my best waterproof watch, but I wear an old timex sport when fishing it is olive drab green and not flashy and has been waterproof on many trips, don't know about if you went swimming with it, but it has been in the water a lot and has never fogged up or quit working, and it only cost 30.00 at Campmor.com

I have been using the Timex Ironmen with the alarms and timer. You can get them pretty cheap at WallyWorld. There are several models ranging in compass units to the cheap-o's. I have had this one for the past 2 years never had a problem except for the bands falling apart. I don't take mine off even in the shower.

You'll never be able to beat a G-Shock for a durable waterproof watch that keeps on ticking. it's always tuned in to the exact second too.

I agree with everyone's top two! I had an Ironman I bought when I went in the service back in 87 and it just broke two summers ago! Was a great watch!

Now, I have a very nice Casio G-shock and it is awesome! It was a little pricey though, it went for [2] Benjamins, but I still think it was worth it!

Some of the selling points for me were:

Supposed to be insulated for extreme cold environments and I fish and hunt in Colorado! (I have had it incased in frozen in snow well below zero)

Water resistant to 250 meters! (can't help there, only been maybe 20 ft deep on me)

I can most certainly vouch for the the shock resistance and durability, as I have beat it up!

HC Out!
