Lake 35 Report

went up to lake 35 yesterday morning with spottey showers off and on. the bite was pretty good on top water baits. i cought four 1+ pound fish and one 2.6 pound " in pic" i cought the 2.6 pound bass on a green buzz bait casting out from the renting boats. i had a boat key for the day but found myself comming back after 5 full mins of in the boat because of the lighting near by. but i did get out in the boat and fished the point and cought 2 back to back cast on a buzz bait.

later in the day when the clouds seem to calm down i went out and searched for fish in the boat with a fishfinder. i found them stacked up on deep weed lines, but could not catch any.

Thanks for the update TH777! Yeah, the fire from the sky, in a boat, or on land, is nothing that anyone should think they are tougher than.

Good point trouthunter,never can state safety enough.Besides some may not know you should not go out on the water when it's lightning.

Nice ones.Buschs or should I say Inbevs now is funny,I catch bigger bass out of the cat lakes and bigger cat out the bass lakes.

Anyone ever hook or get in any of the muskie in out of 35? I've fished it a few times, seen some pics of some big cats caught there. In the past have had my best luck on 28, never kept anything but a few trout during the winter. There are supposed to be some white bass/striper hybrids out there somewhere? I thought I read that on one of the lake brocures.

I have never hooked or seen a muskie landed.I've caught a lot of small channels 1-1 1/2 lps. out of the cat lakes.Alot of small bass 8"-10".Some small crappie.The biggest channel about 5lps was out of 35.Biggest bass about 4lps out of 7.Lots of trout 12"-15" using bait[yellow power eggs] and never seen any whites/hybirds.

I live 10 minutes from Busch so I go quite a bit. I hit the hrbrid lakes last year with no luck. Never saw an agent to ask about populations but the water didn't seem deep enough to hold hybrids. I catch a few bass over there.

i belive they have a certain season for the muskie. if i rember right somtime in winter like feb? when they take people out to go fishing for them or somthing? makes u pounder because you cant rent any boats during that time of year, yet you see the pics of people catching muskie on lake 35 in winter while using a boat idk?!? I would loveeeeee to get more info.
