CaptainT16 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Just wondered if you can have campfires at the campsites there? I was looking around and couldn't find anything on it. Just wondered if any of you would happen to know and all if the burn ban has been lifted for that area? Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 21, 2006 Root Admin Posted March 21, 2006 Yes you can. They have pits where you can build fires- if my memory serves me correctly. No burn bans.
CaptainT16 Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Yeah, I figured you could, but just couldn't find anything on it. Thanks again! snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Yes you can. I spent a few nights there over the winter on different weekends. Best campsite in the state. I mentioned this before. Before Christmas the bathouse was shut down for rehab, don't know current condition. Snag.
CaptainT16 Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 Thanks snagged! Do they still close the campground gates at 10pm? My father and I were talking about night fishing, but trying to figure out a way to stay fishing later then 9:30 or so? snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I don't think they close them at all. But maybe I just go to sleep too early. I think people were coming and going all night though. Kinda weird to wake up and have someone camping right next to you and they weren't there when you went to bed. In fact I never saw anyone working the office ever in the winter. AHHHHH! night fishing in the spring! Good luck. Snag.
Randall Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 definitley not... i always stay there when i go to taney and the gates have never been closed while i was there. i do go in and out at all hours too. Cute animals taste better.
Members Lucky Fly Posted April 14, 2006 Members Posted April 14, 2006 Is there a website for reservations and information about the campsite. Steve "Trout Don't Live In Ugly Places"
CaptainT16 Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Here you go. We did end up staying there and it was great. A little chilly that night, but it was only a couple of miles to the fishing and ended up working out great. Here is the website for you. http://www.mostateparks.com/tablerock/camp.htm "He told us about Christ's disciples being fisherman, and we were left to assume...that all great fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fisherman and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman." - Norman Maclean-A River Runs Through It
