snap Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 ...only towards canoes that have a motor on it... and a driver that looks about 6'6"" and weighs nearly 300...and if I see anything like that, I will drive circles around it until the big guy starts being nice towards me!!!
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 The jets eliminated. Not all rivers in our area are the same, and some should be preserved for experiences not available on all rivers. I would like to see the rental canoes controlled by applying a maximum limit allowed on any one day. One of my fondest memories is a trip on the river in the early 80's. We took 2 1/2 days and saw one canoe the second day and 3 toward the end of the final day. We camped on gravel bars and heard nothing but natural. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
FishinCricket Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I just want to see that bald eagle again... cricket.c21.com
ozark trout fisher Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I'd really like to see ME on it. (Never been). I agree. I am definitely going to float it this spring/summer.
Mark Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The only time the Eleven Point gets overcrowded is holidays and summer weekends, which is to be expected. I would hate to see a limit on the canoe rental places as that is their bread and butter and they need those big days to stay in business. Spring, fall, and weekdays anytime are the best time to float and not see much traffic. And even summer weekends after the 4th of July, traffic slows down. PS - Snappy, I'll have to see you operate your new toy before I worry about you driving circles around anything.
2sheds Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Hard to find much to add to Brian's original post. I always worry about unintended consequences. I want to enough infrastructure (road maintenance, boat ramps, Forest Service campsites, et al) to retain the status quo and allow the outfitters to earn their living. But I want to avoid any enhancements that could eliminate the wilderness experience or muck with the fishing. Hard-to-reach and rustic are the 2 characteristics that help make the Eleven Point what it is we love.
ColdWaterFshr Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I'd like to see the jetboats gone in the Blue Ribbon section.
Members mjarrett Posted January 13, 2009 Members Posted January 13, 2009 Each trip I have been fortunate to make , the River has been different on Its own. I say protect it as it is and watch for any isuues in the future. Thanks...
Members lizard Posted January 14, 2009 Members Posted January 14, 2009 Id like to see a put in at turners north, a T.P. bomb patrol, blue ribbon area extended to Whitten. Jet boats limited to weekends, and only in the white ribbon area. Id like to see an Ice station here or there. Oh ya, and a topless area from Whittin to Riverton. (if im wishing, go for it!)
