Flippin Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I am trying to learn the winter pattern for catching bass. I am putting in at Aunt Creek in the a.m. and I plan on throwing stickbaits and jigs, but that can be changed. I have an open ear for anyone that is familar with fishing this time of year and would appreciate any and all advice.
Bill Babler Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Aunts creek is fishing extremely well. Not only is there a jig bite, if fished very slowly, but also do not hesitate to look deep for either suspended or bottom dwelling K's. Look for shad schools and you can fish these vertically with either a dropshot, grub or spoon. Excellent catches are now being made in the creek. Quality electronics are the key for the deeper presentations. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Flippin Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Nothing in Aunt's Creek.....nothing to see, move along please! Techo I can always count on you for a laugh. I dont think you have to worry about me pulling out any records.
techo Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I put in at Aunts Creek most of the time. I love that place. It has two nice ramps and you can catch fish off of the rocks next to the ramp. Many times you can catch fish without even starting the big motor. If gas goes back up to $4.00 this summer I might have to fish there all year long. I am sure no one knows, but I love those Eakins jigs in Aunt's Creek. I hear Shell Knob is much better though! Tim Carpenter
Champ188 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 You're dead wrong about Shell Knob, Techo. Worst area on the lake. I strongly recommend anything from the dam all the way to the back of Cricket and Long creeks. I hear Beardsley has so many fish that you can rig up a drop shot with five hooks and catch a tournament limit on one drop.
