ekl-stl Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Heard about this on the news. I guess he was attempting to ICE fish.. Just glad he was saved and he wasnt out there by himself.
BredMan Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Also saw that on the news too. Some of those boneheads that fish there will do most anything and that wasn't too much of a surprise. So far it's been a pretty mild mannered year for normal fishing with the exceptions of a few warm weekends. Then the morons with coolers of beer and BBQ grills show up and leave the cans and bottles behind along with the other trash they produced. One of my pet peeves about BWA is people leaving crap scattered all over and never taking their cans and bottles with them. Worse yet are those that sink them in the water. Ruins it for everyone. People at the office told me last year that they had to quit putting as many trash dumpsters out because they were being filled with trash people would bring from home.
patfish Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Urban Trout Fishing Is Dangerous.... only if you're stupid.
Members Rackersc Posted January 26, 2009 Members Posted January 26, 2009 Does anyone know when the catch and release lakes are open to keep fish?
Members tgard27 Posted January 27, 2009 Members Posted January 27, 2009 I live in KC and we have JAmes A Reed which has trout stocked in it. On Saturday I saw some locals execising the low level intelligence that many people at urban trout ponds have. Three men out on the lake ice fishing and not a darn brain between them. Its a wonder that they didn't become the 6 o'clock news.
BredMan Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Does anyone know when the catch and release lakes are open to keep fish? Beginning February 1, you can catch and keep the trout at the winter lakes, and use any bait or lure. Check the local regulations for any other rules that may apply. Don't be in a big hurry since most all if not all lakes in the St Louis area are frozen over solid. Of course you can be a real star on the evening news if you try your hand at ice fishing and go through the ice. Just be sure there are a few others around to call 911 when you do.
