ekl-stl Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I picked up a package of goose biots this week to tie into some scuds. Can someone identify what part of the goose this comes from and if there is much preperation to get the final product. We take numerous geese a year and it would be nice to get a little more out of them.
Gavin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 You can find biots on the leading edges of the primary wing feathers. No big deal to harvest them, but they will only be in their natural shade. Guess you could die them with some RIT if you wanted other colors, but its probably cheaper to buy them at retail. Cheers.
