Fishrman Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Should have stayed home. But had to get out. Have not been in quite some time, so I braved the cold weather and drove to Big M. Water was 40 degrees and I attempted to fish deep. Did not get one bite and only had about 3 lookers. Sorry so poor of a report to post, but thought someone might get some use out of it.
motoman Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 That makes for a rough day in the cold, sorry to hear it. - Don't ever hesitate to post a report, good or bad. I try to check the forums daily, and see whats doing. It helps hold me over 'til I make it down again. - I don't know how I stayed sane in the off season before I found OAF.
Champ188 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Considered a trip Sunday to Eagle Rock myself but my partner wimped out. No names since the aforementioned partner is a member and frequent visitor to this forum with whom I happen to share a bed. Doesn't sound like we missed much. Better luck next time Fishrman.
techo Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Might want to say hello to the couch after that less than encrypted post! Tim Carpenter
Whack'emGood Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Champ... Wimping out on Sunday or not-- I'll bet your partner is still tougher than all of us on here put together... evidenced by the courage she has showed recently in a certain non-fishing situation. From the recent reports that have been posted, I would call her backing out on Sunday more like using good sense instead of wimping out. (Don't tell her I said that... we will never live it down!! ) I have been itching to go lately also, but have thought better of it-- I am still mixed on if I really want to go or not. It is always nice to get out no matter what, but I would much rather go when it is 50 degrees and not catch'em than go when it is 25 degrees and not catch'em. On a different note... Get the hatches battened down everyone, in case it is gonna be as bad as they say it is. Be safe and stay warm! Whack'em "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
Members rangerz20 Posted January 28, 2009 Members Posted January 28, 2009 Fished Wed- Sunday, had 5-11 keepers a day. Fished the Winter Series out of Ahoys and had an average limit which got crushed. We had 11 keepers, but they were all the same size. Almost 21 pounds won it. saturday was the only day i did not have a big bite...figures. Oh well, be back this weekend
