Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 28, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted January 28, 2009 The ramp downtown is open and useable. Not sure about Cooper.
bigredbirdfan Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Any info on landing related docks or Pro Bass Docks?
Rolan Duffield Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Wow, that was a close call for loosing the main dock at Lilleys. Hope there wasn't any boats under the area that collapsed. Thanks for the pics, Phil. We're all thankful everyone's safe. Rolan
Members bigdub Posted January 29, 2009 Members Posted January 29, 2009 I just found out here in Kansas that the dock at River Point sustained heavy damage and all the boats, including ours were submerged in water. I was wondering if anyone had any actual visual knowledge of how bad it is! going to try and get down there tonight and see what I'm uop against! I stopped in the shop at Lilley's on Saturday and bought that TFO rod and found out where we were suposed to meet and all the details, but it looks like I will be making a reservation for one of your boats now Phil, so me and my dad can fish participate that tourney! H ave a good one all!! A fool with a plan is always better than a genius with NO PLAN!!!!
Zack Hoyt Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Dang Phil... bummer for you and the others. OK... 1 cubic foot of ice weighs 57.5 lbs at 32 deg F... 30ft x 20ft x 1/4 ft (3 inches) x 57.5 = 8,625lbs Plug in your own numbers to get your results... So forumla (AREAx.25)x57.5 3in=.25ft AREA=LENGTHxWIDTH Thats crazy!!! I had approximately 400lbs of ice on top of my car. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 29, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted January 29, 2009 I haven't been uplake... there's still alot of ice on our docks and the wakes of passing boats my put us all under. So I'll wait till may be this pm to get out.
mwfischer Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I'm surprised the Water Patrol didn't close the upper lake given the docks like that that are still floating but with wakes could be damaged further.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 29, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted January 29, 2009 Close? Can't. It would be like closing a street with houses and driveways. Anyhow, ice is melting and we're out of the woods.
wily Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 i'm glad that the worst is over. sorry about your dock but i know that you'll build it back better than ever. if you need any help let me know -- i don't know very much about construction but i've got a strong back and a willingness to help. these ice storms are crazy -- last year we had a bad one here in joplin. we were out of power for a week. tons of tree damage all over town.
fly2fish Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Just saw some large chunks of ice falling from the trees on the webcam, by the size of splashes they were making LOOK OUT may cause a real headache.
