Chief Grey Bear Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Something I noticed when I just went back and read who posted what. Those contributing the most information to this site don't want it changed. From reading everyone of Phil's post on this subject, he has no intention on leaving it the way it is. Why ask you contibutors for their opinion if you have your mind made up already? Would all the new nation wide advertising that has happened in the last 6 months or so caused a need for a bigger audience to generate additional income? You have to admit, if BRBF and I agree, it must be good! Just some thoughts that I have pondered in my head. Trav Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 You have your new domain Phil. We the people of OAF will be glad to take this one off your hands if you no longer think it is good enough. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
stone9-7=2 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I must admit this soon to be change really makes me sad. I see nothing wrong with the way this form is. I think it should remain the same. Why ruin a good thing???? Anyway my 1/2 cent worth, which is'nt much when your mind is made up. Sad sad day.
jjtroutbum Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Is gonna be a sad day. OAF was great while it lasted. Danoinark Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Thanks for the comments. Keep them coming. I'm so involved in NAIA basketball this week I hardly have time to check email and read the forum. I've secured a new url site and have it setup for a new forum. I'll move the forum over and update it, build in new waters and have it up in a week or so. I've had some good suggestions for persons who would help with fishing reports on rivers and lakes... those contacts are vital in bringing on good people to give info on these places. Unfortunately, you'll have to register on the new forum. I can't move over memberships. Thanks- keep comments coming. Geez boys. Read this again. Phil is not saying he is going to shut down OAF. He said he has secured a site for a NEW forum. He did the same thing with the hunting forum and he was not able to move your registrations there. You had to re register if you wanted to post there. I would WAIT just a bit before the sky falls. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Members OzarkKid07 Posted March 14, 2009 Members Posted March 14, 2009 Hey fellers! I certainly don't know the whole story and I don't know Phil, but my guess is he is the type of guy who is loyal to a fault, just from what I've seen here. Odds are OA will probably remain the tight-knit community of guys that make it as special as it is, with all of the watchers and readers still visiting and learning, and all of the non-residents living vicariously through the residents. The new forum will probably be a mix of Ozark angling information and information from a wider area of fisheries. Either way, we should give Phil the benefit of the doubt that he will do the right thing by not only the folks who have made this site so great, but also by his own goals and ambition, which we should support. Again, I probably don't have all the facts, but from what I see, there is no harm to be done. I'll still be reading whatever and wherever Chief and Trav and Dano and Al are posting. I'll also be pumped about someone like Phil attracting new types of folks LIKE those guys, to report on waters that I get to fish regularly. Michael J. I can't move over memberships. This says to me, YOU HAVE TO REDO ALL YOUR SETTINGS AND START FROM SCRATCH and not only that "WE WON"T BE OZARK ANGLERS BUT ANOTHER NUMBER IN THE MIDWEST" And what about our blogs and the work we have done there?? Larry Richards Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 When it comes to the Ozarks this website is #1.but if you expand your coverage you will be just another one of hundreds of websites that cover expanded areas that all ready have there followers.

I want to stay right here or go out in a blaze of glory. I think we should buy the site off Phil and keep it the way we like it. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
