Members OzarkKid07 Posted March 14, 2009 Members Posted March 14, 2009 That just it Kido, Trav will not be making a move. I want to stay right here or go out in a blaze of glory. I think we should buy the site off Phil and keep it the way we like it. I hear ya' Trav. I'm just sayin, I don't think you'll HAVE to move. I think we're reading too much into this. Before we go all Gossip Girl about it, let's see what Phil has to say. I would bet my 2009 fishing license he isn't going to do something that would be regressive or detrimental. Michael J. Mooney IV Center Director Brain Balance of Edwardsville "Ohhh, you thought we were on vacation!? Sorry honey, this is a FISHING TRIP! Welcome to the family."
Chief Grey Bear Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Geez boys. Read this again. Phil is not saying he is going to shut down OAF. He said he has secured a site for a NEW forum. He did the same thing with the hunting forum and he was not able to move your registrations there. You had to re register if you wanted to post there. I would WAIT just a bit before the sky falls. Dano I and we understand that Dano. What we are saying is we don't want it expanded. I can go to this forum and post anywhere I have fished in the US. It is already here and not being used that much. There are even sub forums for world wide fishing reports. Not seeing many posts. I may have voted for change last November but I sure as heck ain't voting for it now. Just look at what the majority of the posters that post the majority of the post are saying. It may be a nightmare to do but, if Phil is hell bent on have an expanded forum, why not have two forums? Leave this one alone and build another one with the expanded territory that he wants. Just my thoughts Dano. I sure as heck ain't getting on you. I have no prior knowledge...but iffin' I was a bettin' man....Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Trav Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I'll move the forum over and update it, build in new waters and have it up in a week or so. Unfortunately, you'll have to register on the new forum. I can't move over memberships. This says you will have to move Kido "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Trav Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Chief, exactly. I have no prior knowledge...but iffin' I was a bettin' man....Dano I hope you are right Dano, but your betting odds seem pretty low. If he is "moving forums" then you will be forced to move "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson

Buzz Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 This is my second post on this subject........ I had looked and looked for years for a forum that I actually felt comfortable about posting topics or comments on. Finally, I found OZARK ANGLERS.COM. I don't even check the other forums anymore. They are far too cliquish and you are not made to feel welcome. This site is quite the opposite. People post attaboys on topics of waters they may never fish or have never fished. There is an equality of abilities that is not found on any other site that I have encountered. A friendship, even as siblings that don't ever seem to agree on anything else , they seem to agree on one thing, OAF is something special. I know I enjoy cruising the site and checking out all of the reports from some areas that I have never fished before, but hope to soon. In Phil's defense, sort of, he needs to give us a little more info, one way or the other. Trav, I can put up $50.00 right now. What'll that get me? Expand the site, start a new site, but leave OAF as it is.!.!.!.! BUZZ If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
snakem Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 DARN DUDS I just got on to night , this has realy got me upset, dont no whats going on. From what i can see .leave this SITE ALONE.... ITS THE BEST,Mabey i missed something. LET me know. Snakem Out
Trav Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Trav, I can put up $50.00 right now. What'll that get me? Expand the site, start a new site, but leave OAF as it is.!.!.!.! BUZZ Thanks Buzz, Hang on to the fifty and keep it out of the stock market. You might need it here if we have to turn this site into a coop. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Members Trout Predator Posted March 14, 2009 Members Posted March 14, 2009 I haven't been here for long but enough that I think I can voice my opinion. I think you have a good thing going here, but it could always be better. The forum should always be expanding and trying new things and accommodating the needs of and Ozark fishermen. But you can't forget what makes this forum so special, the people who contribute to it. They contribute to it because its a place they can go to talk local or near by fishing with other folks about the same waters in the same area. I think that you should consider weather this close knit community of fishermen will be the same if its changed too much.
