Members beamedik Posted March 1, 2009 Members Posted March 1, 2009 I am sending my boys down to fish for spring Break, 3-18-3-22. They are either going to stay in Park or at Pine crest, but would like to fish mostly out of park. We are familar with Tan-vat, Baptist, and Parkers Ford, but wanted to make sure it was low enough to be fishable. They got rained out last year with big flood. Also, since season is finally open, wanted to know what is working. this will be their earliest trip to Montauk/ current. Thanks from KC.
brownieman Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Before they come remind me and I'll be glad to let you know the river conditions, sound cool?? My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
Members beamedik Posted March 1, 2009 Author Members Posted March 1, 2009 awesome, thanks. it's a long drive for a flood.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 You could just look at the USGS water level site pinned to the top of the Current River Section you are posting in. Here it is for you. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site..._cd=00065,00060 SIO3
Members beamedik Posted March 2, 2009 Author Members Posted March 2, 2009 yeah, i have looked at it, but it means nothing. Iam not sure how to interpret it and what it means the river looks like. thanks though.
jdmidwest Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 If you change it to a 30 day graph, you can really see the fluctuations. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
flyfishmaster Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 beamedik, Here is a good rule of thumb... the Normal Discharge flow is 100 or less. An the normal Gage Height is less than 3 feet. Anything above those values, the water may be a bit off color and "faster" flows. I hope that helps out. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Members beamedik Posted March 2, 2009 Author Members Posted March 2, 2009 cool, that helps a lot. otherwise i was just staring at a graph and having some flashbacks from statistics class...ended up under the desk twice.
