DD'sMC Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Duckydoty and I took the kiddos and a couple of my son's buddies to RRSP for a beautiful spring day of fishing. The park didn't seem to be as crowded as we were anticipating it would be on such a nice day. I found a spot just below the hatchery bridge. Everyone, except my daughter, who was feeling just a little under the weather, caught fish. Here's my lunker of a lifetime. She is the biggest fish I've ever landed, trout or otherwise. Caught her on a hot pink San Juan worm. She was 25" and just over 8 1/4 lbs. Fought her for about 10 minutes. I'm not sure who was more excited, me or my hubby ! Still can't believe I landed her . What an awesome day! Enjoy the photos of our day!!! We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.

Members flyfishingtaz Posted March 9, 2009 Members Posted March 9, 2009 great fish, congradulations!!! too many fish...not enough time to catch em all.
laker67 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Way to go "MC"! A tremendous fish! Rainbows, that size, are getting harder to come by every year. Definately, a trophy rainbow.
DD'sMC Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 Thanks guys! She was a monster (as my son kept saying). I was truly torn about keeping her. I look at it like this...she was raised and fed by the park to be released so someone would catch her as a trophy. If not by me, then by someone else. It was very exciting! I could not have done it without the help of my "net boy". Thanks duckydoty!!! We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
