Kyle Kosovich Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 With this little tast of spring I'm really looking forward to float fishing and camping. Here are some pics from last year on the Bryant. Kyle Kosovich Boat Builder/Guide http://www.LongboatOutfitters.com
Ham Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Nice photos on the website Kyle. I'm gonna guess your camera is a little fancier than mine. The old school boat is pretty nice looking as well. Good Luck with the business, I hope you have more request for trips than you have time. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Kyle Kosovich Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 My camera is only a 6mgpix Pentax Optio point and shoot waterproof camera. About 4 years old. Nearly all the pictures on the site are with that camera and are shot by me. Thanks for the complements, I hope your right and I don't have enough time... Have a good one. RSBreth Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Love your website. Even though I'm a canoe guy, I still recognize that those boats are pretty cool. I put a link on my website.
creek wader Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Gotta agree with RSBreth. Like your web site. Ok straighten me out here. I'm a little slow and a tight wad, to boot. If I and one friend did and overnight on the Bryant. Let's say we left the morning of the 20th. Camped that night on the river. Then got off the river the afternoon of the 21st. Say, I was paying the whole bill. Would it cost a grand total of $400, or a grand total of $800. wader
Kyle Kosovich Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 It is $400 for two people per day. That is $50 more each person than a guided fishing trip and your getting an overnight with cooking and gear rental for that $50. If you wanted a half day the second day we could talk about a discounted rate for the second day. Email or call me and we'll work our those details. This is what I do for you on a trip like that. I shop for all the food/drinks you need before the trip, guide your fishing trip, set up camp, cook all meals, including dinner and breakfast, I provide MSR tents, and Exped downmats to sleep on.We will also talk and learn about the stream ecology and history on our float down the river. I also take photos during the trip that you will recieve. All you do is show up with your fishing gear, clothes, and your sleeping bag. If you need any cetain type of gear we can find you someting to use. I hope this clears up your questions. If you or anyone else has any questions or comments please give me a call or email me. You can find all my contact info on my website. Thanks Kyle Kyle Kosovich Boat Builder/Guide http://www.LongboatOutfitters.com
Kyle Kosovich Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Thanks RSBreth! I appreciate your help and comments. I was a canoe gut to until I paddled a wood flat bottom down the river. You would be surprized how responsive it is and how little water a 20' wood flatbottom draws. Kyle Kosovich Boat Builder/Guide http://www.LongboatOutfitters.com
Ham Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 It seems expensive to those of us that already own all that gear and have the knowledge base to make that trip on our own, but if someone doesn't have a lot of experience/ gear and they are in this area and want to make a trip like that, it is cheaper in the long run and they'll have a much better experience to boot. I need to look into fixing dessert on the river. We do a good job on the entree and drinks, but I got nothing that comes close to the apple dumplings. Wow. Gavin Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Dessert on the river...YUM...how do you do your apple dumplings? I usually go with pineapple upside down cake cooked in a Dutch Oven. No-brainer easy and its always a hit. I've had good luck with this fellows recipes. http://papadutch.home.comcast.net/~papadut...ven-recipes.htm Cheers.
Al Agnew Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Geez, guys, I just stop off at a KFC on the way and buy a bucket of chicken to go along with the potato chips for supper, venison sausage and potato chips for lunch, and Little Debbies for breakfast and deserts. (I'd rather fish than cook on the river--if the wife goes along she plans something a bit more elaborate.) Dutch ovens? Upside down cake? Apple dumplings?
