ekl-stl Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I have been looking into getting a Kayak and really like the looks of the Old Towne K111, however I am unable to locate one in St. Louis. Has anyone used one of these and if so, how is it? I plan to fish small lakes and ponds, as well as do some duck hunting on creeks and flooded fields.
jdmidwest Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I owned a K113 for a while, local fishing shop picked up some dealer specials. It was too big for what I wanted, kept getting stuck crossways in small streams. Other than that, paddled nice, comfortable, and was loaded with extras. I wish I would have bought the K111 instead. The hull was a little squirrelly in whitecaps on the duck lake, no keel, no spray skirt. It kinda spooked me on the duck lake. Would do well in calm shallow water. grizwilson Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 This guy seems good and very competitive prices: http://www.ozarkcanoe.com/BoatListPage-Old...oes-Kayaks.html “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
ekl-stl Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Thanks for the responses. I saw that OzarkCanoe.com has a few of these for a little over $600 and that seemed very reasonable since I can't locate any others in Missouri. I will keep looking in St. Louis and pick one up at OzarkCanoe later this summer when I am down that way if I can't locate one..
grizwilson Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Sometimes this time of year he gets some scratch and dent or blems that he discounts even more, might drop him a line usualyy gets a load in March “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
jdmidwest Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Most will not get the new yaks in till April. Gander Mountain used to carry the Predators, Cabelas and BPS carry the Loon which is a non camo Predator. All PVC boats are going up, the Pamlico I bought 5 years ago for $399 is up to $699 now.
