drew03cmc Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Roaring River is put and take as well, but its location requires a longer driver for a lot of folks. All the parks are on equal terms. You can catch big fish, but you have to find them. Andy
DoveTail Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Yes, all the parks are put and take. Just those as you mentioned, those that are harder to get to / more remote get less pressure so you see a lot more fish as the other parks. They all have some big ones swimming around.
Members tgard27 Posted March 25, 2009 Members Posted March 25, 2009 I think that we have to remember that there are going to be bad years at trout parks and for us to expect these parks to be at their best despite the rough economy and bad weather from last year is ridiculous. I suggest that we either enjoy what we have or find a new hobby. Remember, you're there for the pleasure of being away from work, or in some situations the nagging wife, so enjoy it!

FishinCricket Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Don't take this the wrong way guys.. But I have been fishing "zone 4" (just below the park on the river) out of the John boat with a maribou and just SLAYING them! Two to three foot off the bottom in the deeper holes. Just got back from there a few hours ago.. I left em all there for ye.. Don't boycott Bennett, Lebanon (and the state) needs your tax dollars.. LOL cricket.c21.com
NoLuck Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 People, I started this thread with a simple question. Now it has become a fascination for one person in particular to bash other fisherman because of how they feel about the situation. If you have nothing to add to this thread without the bashing stop reading it and posting if it bothers you so much. I think we all know how you feel about trout parks. So why even bother reading the sub-forum on the trout parks?? If anyone needs to get over it, I believe that it is you. Rich
patfish Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Atta boy NoLuck! Take back your thread! I was down on St Patty's day with a couple of buddies and we caught fish, not many, but some. It was humbling, but I had a great day with my friends. That was all that really mattered. Catching 30 or 100 fish to me is just a bonus.
timsfly Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I think I'm heading to Bennett tomorrow, anybody else going to be up there. I'm going to go and see for myself where all the fish have gone Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
flyfshn Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 No luck i would have to agree with you. The family and I camped last Thur-Sun and I did not see as many fish as I usually do. We caught fish and had a great time, but I didn't see as many. My guess is the weather last year and the fishing pressure this year are the cause. I only fished in zone 1 and a little in zone 2. McManus Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Tim, how'd you do at Bennett? "Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau
