Get a C&F fly box and you'll throw rocks at the White River (BP) fly boxes.

Agreed. Not to be a snob at all, but there is a big difference between good enough and adequate for the job. C&F stuff rocks.

I have used the 5.99 BPS fly boxes and the filled with water everytime I upgraded to the SA boxes and love them wish I would have waited a year later and baught the new SA boxes that just came out.

I have used the aluminum white river boxes with the windowed compartments for several years, and to be honest I have recently decided that there is better options. If you drop them the spring loaded lids all pop open and launch there contents everywhere. Or the largest sized one is to shallow on the lid side to be any good for streamers.

I was given a Scientific Anglers Nymph box for Christmas this year and its much better. Going to get a bugger box or something like that next. Only problem is these newer boxes require bigger pockets than my old vest has. If my old vest wasn't ten years old and begging for a trip to the trash can. That would actually be a bigger problem than it really is. ;)

Ok. There is a difference in a better box and a more expensive box. I, personally, like the Bug Luggage box I got for half price. I won't spend the money on C&F boxes, as there are better things to spend it on. Fly boxes are expendable, and why are they filling with water? Are you swimming with them?

The $6.00 BPS boxes don't have the rubber gasket like the more exspensive boxes have and that why they would fill up. I have taken a swim every once in while.

I have been using the Orvis lightweight flyboxes for few years now. They have a magnetic catch and are fairly water tight as I have dropped mine a few times. I carry two of them on the water usually. No rubber gasket though so if they spent enough time in the water I'm sure they would fill up.

BPS does have the "Fly Pod" (used to sell it anyway) which is identical to someone else's midge box (LL Bean maybe?) and it IS water tight, has separate compartments, magnets in the trays. Works good for tiny flies.
