abkeenan Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 went out aroud 2 on friday and fished brushy creek with minimal success on the jerkbaits. Just 2 short kentuckys. Next we fished the bank that starts with the brushy creek resort dock towards that long bluff wall with the house above it there. Water was stained in that area for some reason and the water was 60 degrees and we caught about 10 along that bank but all shorts and 0 keepers. All on jerkbaits, specifically the chartruse mcstick. Today was totally different. 0 fish and tried the same location as friday. Was just brutal out there today. Anyone else have any luck today? If so where and on what? Certainly weren't in brushy. I'm down here now and would like to get on some keepers. Thanks for any help.
jay bird Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Did OK today for a quick trip out of Eagle Rock. Found fish on main lake points that had some good transition to chunk rock. We used chompers for some OK keepers, but did not hear of anything over three pounds caught today.
motoman Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Holy hot water Batman, 60 degree water temps!? - Anybody else find anything that warm?
edwin Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I saw high 50's wayy up in the spoon billin' zone a few days ago... "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
Bill Babler Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 ABK, you had better check your temp gauge, I was over there today, just boat riding. Took a couple out that was staying at the lodge. In front of Brush Creek Resort my temp was 49.9. If it was 60, it dropped like a rock. I have fished the entire lake in the past few days, and have not seen surface temps, even near that mark. If you say it was I believe you, but it sure cooled off. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
chub minnow Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Saw temps as high as 58 in the back of coves up the King's yesterday in very shallow (<10') water. Temps mainly in the low 50's other than that.
abkeenan Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 I appolize for the confusion. I ment to say 50 not 60. Water was 2 degrees or so warmer in that stained area than to surrounding clearer water. Oops! Doing these posts via blackberry as I don't have access to a computer with internet down here. Sorry if any of you ran to that spot to check it out. Abk
