Martin Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Wife and D-I-L found 23 last evening in approx an hour or so. Nice photo's Chris !
Bird Watcher Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Chris, what area of the state are you? I'm down in the SW corner. I have heard reports of them being found North of me though. That's why I thought I had better get out there. I ended up with 112 and the weird thing was I found everything from blacks the size of my thumbnail to whites the size of my fist. Thanks Martin. It was kind of fun taking pictures of mushrooms. I might have to carry a real camera somtime.
Martin Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 On that first photo I put up from last year, I had to go home and get the camera before "harvesting" those. It's rare I walk into that many in one spot. Now I try and take the camera with me.
Martin Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Well, it's a few here and a few there for us. Finding anywhere from 6 to 36 each day. Keep in mind this is not "all day" walking. Just an hour here and an hour there. It may be a little early for the bumper crop, I'm unsure. It's kind of different this year. I'm thinking the upcoming cold might mess everything up. We'll see. Southern Stone County.

Gavin Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Bread in a 50/50 mix of corn meal and flour, s&p, and a hint of saffron. Saute in grape seed oil.
Martin Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 You can coat them with the exact same thing you coat your fish fillets with and deep fry.
