Dear Mr. Babler,

I have several objections to your latest post:

First - It is hard to understand why you would state a resort owner should be put out of business for partaking in the legal harvest of fish.

Secondly - It is offensive that you would refer to me as a 'slug' for my legally upstanding opinions regarding this issue.

Thirdly - In my humble opinion, part of the wonderful tradition of fishing involves the social and familial traditions of enjoying a wonderful fish fry. *had one last night lake side

Furthermore it is disheartning that you would threaten to thwart this dialoge because of our difference in opinions.

Lastly, it is apparent that this forum is not a legitimate site for true anglers and passionate fishermen, but rather, a clever marketing tool for your own commercial profit. Ultimately you appear to be the one to be consuming the fish for your own self interest.

Your beliefs and behaviors are much more distasteful than the casual outdoorsman wanting to be involved with all that fishing offers.

I must have misread my post. Did I refer to you as a slug? Thought I said, "Any Guide?" Are you now guiding here? What is your Federal Guide lic. number?

Did I say any resort owner should be put out of business? Can't find that in my post and I just looked.

Last time I looked at my balance sheet, I didn't find were I was either being paid or compinsated for posting here, and if you had any record of my participation on this forum, you would find I have never solicitated any guide business here.

As a matter of point, my goal is to provide viewers a means to catch fish on TR without the need of a guide. I am very free, along with Don House and Eric Prey, with information, much to the distane of most of the guides here. Again, if you are stating otherwise you have not done your research.

If my opinion of killing pregnant female bass, reading to spawn is differnet from yours, so be it. It is mine, and that is my stance, but it is supported by facts rather than fiction.

As I stated before, please feel free to kill all the pregnant female bass you wish, that is your right, but please give us your personnel opinions without the untruths of either the resort owners or conservantions agents you have never spoken to.

Your's or any other individule's opinions are very important here, as long as they have a truthful background. You do not have to give us untruth's to support your opinion. It is your's, and you have a right to it.

Table Rock lake is a very small community, and we know everyone here, including all the MDC agents, Resort Owners, Guides and lake Biologist.

It is very easy to see, with very little effort that untruths are in your posts.

You are more that welcome to post, and your post can disagree with mine totally if they are true. If not appropreate action will be take.

No... it's

you're a jack ass.

Gotta get your facts straight, like the man said.

This is an interesting conversation. But I have to back Mr. Babler on this one. although his passion got the best of him AGAIN.

He just called me and told me he was called a curse word... as both of us busted out laughing, I told him jack ass wasn't a curse word and he may have been right.

One thing is for sure- you can't come on here and throw around weight when you don't have any... Lord knows you guys have called ME on the carpet several times and I've had to eat crow.

Making statements like you have SJ and not backing them up.... it doesn't fly here, not even for me.

That's what all this is about... not that bass are harvested on Table Rock.

Simple fact about this forum- the "guides" that provide FREE fishing info- AND I might add THE best fishing info for Table Rock ANYWHERE are passionate about bass especially during spawning season.

So expect it - if you're going to debate catch and release vs catch and harvest here, it's going to get rough. And don't bring your "B" game.

WOW... the boys up in St. Louis must be cut from a differnt cloth. That said, anyone who wants to come down is more than welcome as long as they don't kill our spawing bass.

Tight lines.

Catch and release debates, bait fishing, debates, and these kind of debates in general usually just cause fighting, and people not wanting to help other people when they ask questions about what this forum is about.......... Fishing. I know this first hand, because I have taken part in my fair share of them, and yes, even started a few. But, I mean, it never really results in anything positive, so I believe that people should think a little harder about these things before a topic is started that you know is probably going to cause massive debate.

Oh yeah, and calling a forum moderator a jack butt is not probably the best idea I've ever heard. Kinda outside what I would call the fair rules of an argument. I say we should try to avoid these arguments in the future, and if we must have them, stay civil about it. I haven't always done this, I admit it, but I think we should try to be better about this if we want to keep this forum as good as it currently is.

Once in a while I get talked into taking someone fishing that doesnt really fish that much . One day last spring a husband of one of my wife's friends was not hooking up. Told him to "cast right in there" and bam he hooked up with a good one that went about 6.5. Got my camera out and he said why ,this ones going on my wall. I tried totalk him into a replica mount, not the same he says. the fish went in the box. I tried to talk him out of keeping that fish for the rest of the day. Needless to say I stopped putting him on the fish and we did not boat another fish for 8-9 more hours. tried again in vain at the launch,no dice. later that year attended a party at his house and I asked him where his fish was. I was told that his wife said not enough in the account to have that "ugly stinky thing on my wall" . I was pissed and sort of heart broken all at the same time. wont ever take that guy again. When I do have a guest on my boat now, I make it abundantly clear that all bass go back in the lake, period. My question to all of you guides is, what do you do when a client insists on keeping fish ? Are they all clear on your posistion before they go out or do you have this same sort of conflict?

My conversation with Bill last night on the phone kinda set it all in perspective... he was rolling laughing so hard about being called a jack ass and I didn't help matters by agreeing.

On my recent trip to Costa Rica, we had 9 high school students from Barry's class with us. They were taking acception to some of the rules Barry was setting down and taking some of his general comments personally. I told them- be a duck! Let it roll off your back.

Same thing here.... just let it roll off. Bill knows who he is and what he contributes on the forum and he shouldn't let someone, anyone on the forum get to him. I don't think he has in this case.

Got to have thick skin for this job.
