Would like to hear how anyone fared today. Guessing with the lake coming up we will start to see the stick drop off and the blades and jigs pick up pretty quickly. Also any info on water conditions, debris, etc. Thanks in advance.

Your probably right. I would not continue to throw a stickbait on either bluffends, pea gravel spawning flats, major secondary points or the major transitions going into the creek or larger cove arms. The fish have stopped biting it.

Just kidding. From what I am hearing the top 10 finishers at least in yesterdays derby, the better part of their limits came on stickbaits. I know for a fact that a couple of the top 5 finishers had as many as 5 limits on the stick.

Wed. Thursday and Friday, there were hundreds of fish caught on stickbaits.

In the two derby's today, there will be again, many limits on the stickbait.

Water temps are still for the most part in the mid-50's. I don't care what the daytime temps are, look at the nights.

Tonight is suspose to be 41 Monday 39 the rest of the week low 40's to a possible of 50 for Friday night

Until the nighttime temps at least maintain a 55 degee average, and surface temps break and stay above 65. Not pockets but main lake, it should still be a tool in your box.

Good Luck

Bill-thanks much, as always. Should be a ton of fun to throw it with all the little bits of leaves, trees, boat docks, & etc coming in. Looking at forecasts I almost had myself talked into jumping on the blade and hitting the back ends of the coves /cuts.

Weather channels are going on about massive rainfall and flood warnings for the area...is that accurate? They love to stand on the edge of a cliff and try to push everyone off up here based on a dark cloud. Is it anything close to a warm rain or are you stuck in the 50's?

Can't tell I'm getting antsy ticking the last few hours off at work can you?

Almost forgot...if you get over by Beck's place in the next week or 2, I'll be the white 521 Ranger parked across the road at Schooner Creek. Would love to say howdy & thank you personally for all the great info over the years if the chance comes up.

Holy Moly, dtrs. I'm at Schooner right now. I've got the ole nag of a blue/white Basscat with the silver tundra.

-

I saw your truck/trailer out this morning, I'll be sure and say howdy if I see yah come in. :D

The stickbait completely shut off for us. But the blade bite is ON! Late yesterday afternoon caught a limit of keepers. And from 8:30ish to 10:00 this morning, caught a limit of keepers; all on the blade. :D

Motoman...not arriving until 4/21, still stuck in the other KC. Hope you are enjoying Jody & Leon's wi-fi. If you are still there, feel free to say howdy, will be down thru 4/30 and again starting 5/4. Will try not to cause too many probs for you with the smell of my Harter House filets :D

Good news on the blade, at least for me. I'll sure throw a stick, but I generally hit some nice blacks when it gets like this in the back of Schooner and White's on the blade.

I do not mind you asking at all! :D I'm thrilled I have somethingto report, and will be happy to share.

I was keeping the boat in about 15-20 foot of water, and they were hitting in about the 10 foot range. Water temps were 57 yesterday, and 55 this morning.

-

The banks are VERY gradual sloping banks, with pea gravel. (although mostly covered with undergrowth)

-

And to show you how much of a blade novice I am, I only own 3 spinnerbaits, and hate throwing them. (cause I've never caught anything)...........but I LOVE 'em now!

-

dtrs, I thought you were already down for 2 weeks. (doh!) :P

Let me make an addition to my above post. One of the gradual sloping banks we've been catching them on, also has small rocks that are about the size of a baseball, scattered about.

-

And when I say slow-roll the spinnerbait, I've been reeling it so sssslow, the blades accidentally stop for a second, then I've got to speed the reeling up a pinch to get 'em back moving. Also, I've had a partner here and there fishing, and he has trouble reeling it that slow, and has caught far less fish.
