TroutRinger Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Can you wade fish anywhere above Fall Creek? I am thinking about heading down for the day either Friday or Saturday. This is going to be the first time I fish below the dam and the first time I have fished there since I was about 10. I'm probably going to stop by Lilley's before I start fishing and get some tips on what to use if I go. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."
duckydoty Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 With the water running there are not going to be many place open to wade fishing above Fall Creek. There are a couple of spots on the South side you might be able to wade a little bit and then the outlets are always crowded during high water. One or two spots along the trail can be wadeable during high water also. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 24, 2009 Root Admin Posted April 24, 2009 Not much wading expect at the outlets. Water is really high right now. With all the great fly fishing in the creeks (Beaver or Swan) I'd head there and catch some nice whites.
Bman Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I will be down there next week. What flies do I need for Whites? Never caught them on the fly rod. That would be cool. The only good line is a tight line

I've been fishing size 4 and 6 grey and white clousers on a 12 foot sinking leader. I imagine a 150 grain sinking tip would work also. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Hey, Thanks for the tip! I've got some clousers I've used for smallies. best regards The only good line is a tight line

duckydoty Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 How do you get to Beaver or Swan Creeks from Table Rock Dam? I guess there's public access? From the dam take 265 to 76 east then 465 north to 65. Go under 65 and the road turns into hwy F. Follow F to 160 and go east to Forsythe. Go through Forsythe and down the hill. When you cross the bridge that is Swan Creek and there is a park there with public access. To get to Beaver keep going past Swan on 160. As you come up the next hill the speed limit changes back down to 45 mph and 160 turns off east between 2 gas stations at the top of the hill. Keep going east on 160 through Kissee Mills and down the hill. The next bridge you cross is Beaver Creek with a park and public access. We have been crossing Beaver Creek and taking the next road after the bridge on the right which is Slough Hollow. Follow it down and you will see the public access down there where Beaver Creek meets up with the road. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at..
