Hello,

I'm headed down to fish taney in early june with my dad and since he is getting up there in age and not able to wade fish as much i thought it would be fun to do a day of guided fishing on either table rock lake or lower taneycomo I've got the wade fishing part covered. Anyone have any suggestions on reasonably priced guides for either lake? I would love to get into a fairly mixed bag of fish. All suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

Troutfinder,

Fished with several guides on the rock from the dam to Big M and my best times have been with Don House. A true professional in every sense of the word. A quick story, went out with Don during the spoonbill season this year with my 12 and 10 year old sons. the bills were not cooperating and if you every have been spoonbill fishing, snagging can get old mighty quick. An hour in to the trip the boys were tired and Don ended up steering the boat and snaggging at the same time. Don was very encouraging and patient with my boys. What could have been a very negative experience turned into a very positive one. The other times I have been out with Don he put us on fish quickly. Would recommend Don and I look forward to our Taney trip hunting down the slimy silver fish this summer.

Troutfinder,

We are fortunate to have a number of good, professional guides on the White River Lakes. Me and a friend just went out with Eric Prey this week and Eric was great. I wanted more of an instructional trip and Eric was great. Helped us establish patterns, read the lake, set up our tackle ... the whole thing. His boat and gear was great and Eric is a great guy to fish with. His website is www.focusedfishing.com.

If your going down on Lake Taneycomo, the one and only CHUCK GRIES with http://www.anglersandarchery.com/ is the man down there. He will put you on fish wherever you go, boat (He has a very comfortable G3 boat for when water is running) or wade fishing, whatever the conditions might be. He will teach you all you need to know, work with you and whoever is with you, very reasonably priced as well. He will improve your game 100% in some cases! He certainly gave me a whole new outlook on spot fishing!

Let me say it again, CHUCK is the man! His son Adam is pretty darn good too. Their fly shop has whatever you need, and is just a cool place to hang out and talk fishin.

Fishing with Chuck is an awesome experience!!! All thumbs, toes, and fingers way up in the air for Anglers and Archery. He is not just a guide to many, he is our friend...not too mention one of the best trout magnets I have ever seen. Check out the site or go into the shop and check out the pictures!

He personally has helped me and my dad out tremedously and taught us so much about the sport...hats off to you Chuck, we will be back time and time again.

Here is just a few of the bruisers he has put me and pop on during the annual run of the browns.

A couple years back my father hooked up with the fish of a lifetime, a 17 pounder!!! He battled that beast for a couple hours, during generation, up and down 100 yard stretch of upper taneycomo, when he realized that he might need some help getting the biggest fish he has ever caught in, he got his phone out and called Chuck. Chuck was up in the shop at the time, he then hung up, and was down with my old man in the water chasing that fish in a matter of 5 or 10 minutes!!! Thanks to Chuck, my dad landed that fish and is getting a replica made of it as we speak! Released unharmed, a 29 inch 17lb male brown with a beak big enough to take your hand off!!! lol. What a fish! Check out the picture on BMAN's profile to see it.

Thanks, again Chuck for the unforgetable memories.

On tablerock, Bill Babler, Bill Beck, Don House, and Eric Prey would be the only ones I would recommend, and I have lived within spitting distance of the tricky girl (rock) my whole life.
