Al Agnew Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I agree, the weird thing is that some people never have the problem, say they get them wet all the time, but plenty of others, myself included, HAVE had it. Supposedly it is something with the bushings or washers, as others here have suggested, but why some do it and some apparently don't is a mystery. At any rate, my attitude is, why take the chance when there are other good reels out there?
denjac Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 These by chance don't have a fiber washer where the spool is does it? Chief, under the spool there are two flat washers on top of the little gear. One appears to be a little thicker than the other. Cant tell if its fiber or not. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Quillback Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Their tech rep said they may not work well when the temp is 48-60? Sheesh, that scares me away from Shimano, plenty of good reels out there that work well when the temps are a little cool.
