I'm going to be down near Horseshoe Bend this weekend. Anybody have any reports?

The lake is muddy, go up the Gravois Mills area much cleaner water. We did fished the cove @ 6 mm and caught quite a few fish. They seemed to key on baits with chart. in them.

Edited: Poor attempt at humor

The fish we caught on Sunday were shallow on main lake points that had seawalls. We caught them on bright-colored Wiggle Warts.

So are all bass off the beds? I would have thought they were for sure, but I read a report that said they still were...and are there any spawning activities for other species.

Just got back, fished mid-lake, it was pretty slow day and a half just a few keepers in the boat caught several small ones. Had our best luck on jig and pig, chompers, or brush hogs. Best luck seemed to be in small pockets toward the backs of coves around structure next to seawalls (weeds, dock supports, transitions, steps, etc.). Good luck!!

I haven't been on the lake myself, but the reports I'm hearing in the Gravois Mills and Laurie area... are outstanding.

Bass: Good carolina rig, and/or drop-shot bite on the points. And a killer Frog bite in the backs of coves. Topwater bite is consistent early and late. And swimming worms (1/4oz., 6" Culprit's or similar) steadily through 10-12ft. brush will get you bit all day long.

Channel cats: are ON FIRE ! it seems everywhere.

Crappie: limits of keepers are apparently no problem, once you find them....but big Slabs are getting scarce.
