et84 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 10" Power Worm- Plum color, 5/0 gamakatsu EWG hook, rigged weightless texas-style. Largemouth out of a private farm pond. Don't know how much he weighed, but not over 4 lbs. Right before the big one I pulled out a 9" largemouth on the same rig!! Never thought I'd catch a 9" bass on a 10" worm!! They sure can be greedy sometimes. "Sometimes it seems like such a hard life, but there's good times around the bend. The rollercoaster's gotta roll to the bottom if ya wanna climb to the top again."

Probably my favortie lake in the country. Those fish have some pull to them down there.
Guest csfishinfool Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Lucky Craft Pointer 128 chartruese shad. Pomme De Terre Lake. Up the river. Around ten pounds
skeeter Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 8 lb. 11 oz LM, Bull Shoals on March 31, 1978 on a Wiggle Wart in a color Storm no longer makes on a very, very wind beaten bank ( Cow Pen Hollow I think ) followed on the next cast ( after my heart started again ) by a 9lb. 3 oz LM on the same bait. Both fish weighed on semi-official scales at Oakland Boat Dock back when Lenny ( Mr. Black Max ) owned it. Had several other fish ( 5 or 6 that I could do NOTHING with on heavy baitcasting tackle ) break me off or pull the hooks on that magical day. 6lb 13 oz SM, (already spawned out so can only imagine what she weighed with eggs in her), on a Black Spook on a very cloudy day in May 2004 on the flats across from Point 19 @ Table Rock. Weighed on a proven accurate digital scale at boatside and quickly and carefully released.
Members stream stalker Posted July 29, 2009 Members Posted July 29, 2009 I would like to collect this info and try to find some of the trends, place it in a graph of some sort and re-post my findings ...any info including bait and or lure type .. conditions would be helpful too (i.e. bluff side , shallows , channel, river) no need to come off that favorite lure name just a general description (i.e. buzzbait, jerkbait, plastic worm.........) you get the idea , make it easy to categorize . no need for size or story just your personal best bass ever Lure and situation. White spinnerbait on march 2nd water was very cold, ice just barely off the water, in a small lake on a Conservation area. I was casting to an isolated tree about 100 feet from shore. I was fishing on my lunch hour (which is a good time of day to fish in early spring) with just the equipment I keep behind my truck seat so no scale, tapemeasure or camera available of course, but the bass weighted about 8 lbs. -SS
