tippett7 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 What is the largest fish you have ever caught in Lake Taneycomo. Rainbow or Brown or even Bass Apply. I think it would be neat with as many people on this forum how many people have caught big fish. I have never caught a bass on Taney, knock on wood, but my biggest brown was a 9 lb caught just below outlet 1. Let's hear about some big fish.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I've never weighed any but I do measure them. Mid twenty inch for both browns and rainbows at Taney. A couple were fat as footballs. Some of the better fighters have been right around 20 inches. I used to bass fish Taney years ago and had some pretty good sized fish around twenty inches. I would rent a boat from the marina in old town Branson and the guy working there would look at my baitcasters and spinning rods and say "you might want to try smaller line and lures for those trout". I just laughed and said okay. My bigest Arkansas fish are a 27 inch brown and a 30 inch rainbow. I have pictures of both of those fish. I thought the 30 inch rainbow might have broken the Arkansas record but I caught it at McC's and let it go. 17 inch girth I think. SIO3
Bman Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 The best male Brown was 17lb, 30"long X 21.5 girth. The best female Brown 13.5 lb was 27" long X 20" girth. Had a male on one day that looked like a railroad tie in the water as he took me to the opposite bank with 2 units running. Well over 20 lbs. I only had a poor quality cell phone cam with me for the male. Both were released in good shape after the pics. the female the male The only good line is a tight line
Micheal Kyle Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Here is mine fished Taney for about 15 years at night and this was the first Brown that I caught that would weigh in over 10lbs. It was just a shy under 30 inches. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Greg Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Mine was a male rainbow right around 8 lbs. Not a very good pic attached (disposable camera) but he was right at 25" long with a girth of 16". I caught him in late winter maybe 6 or 7 years ago. On Taney between outlet 2 and rebar. The funny thing is I had caught a female close to the same size the month before in the exact same area. Since then I've caught numerous fish 20" or better but none as large as these 2. SIO3 Hey, ask us to brag and I'll jump in with both feet. I've got others but those two were the most memorable. I know of one particular individual( who is very modest) who posts on this site that could outshine all! You know who you are...PLEASE, post that pic and story. The only good line is a tight line
